(Clearwisdom.net) Age 19 should be the beginning of a promising life. Yet, at this age the life of Ms. Wang Yingxia, a quiet and kind girl, took a drastic turn. That year, she lost all the happiness that she so much deserved and the hopes she had for the journey of life ahead of her.

Ms. Wang is now 27 years old. No one can remember how many times she has been to the Xiangyang Police Department or how many times she was beaten. People know all too well why she has to frequently go to the police department since she has kept telling others, "My father and uncle were tortured to the extreme by them, and my grandmother passed away because of this. If I don't go to hold them responsible, who else will?"

Ms. Wang lives at No. 6 Group in Zhonglao Village, Xidayingzi Town, in Longcheng District, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. Her father, Mr. Wang Liyang, and her grandmother were both honest, generous, and well respected by fellow villagers. Ms. Wang had been a quiet person since she was a little girl. She cared for her parents and followed their instructions. After her father started practicing Falun Gong, she learned firsthand how Falun Gong practitioners set examples for others to be good people. The family of four enjoyed their life in the village.

Ms. Wang's father was simply trying to be a good person and maintain good health, which was why he practiced Falun Gong. He posed no threat to anyone in power, yet when the nationwide persecution was launched on July 20, 1999 by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Wang family's peaceful life was shattered. Mr. Wang Liyang was arrested several times. He was brutally tortured at the former Longcheng Police Department, now the Xiangyang Police Department. However, Mr. Wang refused to change his principle of being a kind and honest man, even though this caused him to be subjected to further inhuman torture.

The police frequently showed up at Mr. Wang's home to harass him. Whenever the family heard cars or dogs barking past midnight, it was most likely the police making their rounds. Young Yingxia knew her father did nothing wrong and tried to do everything to protect her father and the family, but to no avail. One day, Yingxia was home alone when the police climbed over the wall, jumped into her courtyard, and broke in to ransack her home. Yingxia put herself in harm's way in order to stop the officers from taking valuables away. The officers pulled her hair and smashed her head against the wall. Neighbors heard the cries and were astonished by the police brutality. They scolded the officers, saying, "How can you beat on a child like this while the adults of the family are away?" Only then did the officers leave reluctantly.

In April 2002, Ms. Wang's father and uncle were arrested again. She learned from indirect sources that both her father and uncle had been brutally beaten. Her uncle Mr. Wang Liping passed out three times during the police beatings. Later, the two practitioners were sentenced to six and seven years in prison. This illegal sentencing devastated the two families. Yingxia's grandmother was heartbroken. Her only hope was to see her two sons for the last time before they were taken to prison, but her hopes were dashed when she learned that her sons had been taken ahead of schedule. When she learned about this, Yingxia's elderly grandmother burst into tears. With sadness on top of constant fear, when the police showed up arbitrarily for harassment, she fell ill, and in December 2002 she passed away. She was not able to see her two sons, nor were her two sons able to attend her funeral.

Yingxia's mother could not bear the blows from the police brutality and arrogance of power, and became ill too. For a year, she was not able to attend to farm work in the fields. Yingxia, only 19 years old, shouldered the entire family's workload in the fields.

Besides the heavy workload, Ms. Wang tried everything she could to speak out for her father, but she didn't know how. The only thing she could think of was to go see officers at the Xidayingzi Police Station, but no one cared to listen to her. She was infuriated by the aloofness and arrogance of the police. She started telling everyone that she herself was a Falun Gong practitioner, while in fact she was not practicing Falun Gong at the time. She wanted to see whether the police would continue to ignore her defending the innocence of her father and uncle. Shortly afterwards, Ren Tie and half a dozen other police officers from the Xidayingzi arrested Ms. Yingxia while she was working in the fields. They took her to the Beishan Brainwashing Center in Xidayingzi Town. In the brainwashing center, Wang, who is head of the center, Dai, and Liu Li kicked and slapped her. The police officers who operated the brainwashing session also beat her and shocked her with electric batons. She was deprived of meals and went on a hunger strike. She was handcuffed to a chair for an entire night and the next morning. She was traumatized by the experience. For a time, she became so scared that upon seeing police entering the room, she would hide under a chair. She was tortured for 13 days before her family was allowed to take her home.

The day Ms. Wang returned home, she felt weak all over her body. At 19 years old, she suffered a mental collapse. She rarely talks and is often in a trance-like state. Sometimes she loses control of herself and starts smashing things. She even fails to return home. One place she goes to frequently is the Xiangyang Police Department, where one or more of the police officers who tortured her are now employed.

Despite the nationwide suppression and media blackout on Falun Gong, Ms. Wang's story is one that lives on. It reminds people of the brutality and irrationality of the CCP regime that has broken her family, taken the life of her grandmother, and ruined her life since she was only 19 years old.
