(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Dongmei, a Falun Dafa practitioner, was reported to the authorities when she was passing out fliers about Falun Dafa, resulting in her arrest. Her son, a non-practitioner, was also arrested at the same time. Both were taken to a local police station and transferred to one of the city detention centers. Her husband, a non-practitioner, started an all-out effort to get them released. Fellow practitioners visited Dongmei's family, advising them to demand their release without admitting guilt. The family spent no money to hire an attorney, yet succeeded in getting the mother and son released.

Rescue Effort Starts with Family

The battle between the righteous and the vicious for over 20 days confirmed once again what Teacher said,

"When disciples have ample righteous thoughts
Master has the power to turn back the tide"
("The Master-Disciple Bond," from Hong Yin Volume II)

Practitioners focused on three major points: 1) on Teacher's Fa, 2) on looking within and rectifying ourselves, and 3) on advising the detained practitioner's family to be thankful to Falun Dafa.

The arrest of Ms. Dongmei and her son, a non-practitioner, greatly affected the family. Her husband was angry and quite vocal about the arrest. He claimed that his wife ruined their family's and son's futures.

Faced with accusations by Ms. Dongmei's husband, fellow practitioners were worried and not quite sure how to handle the situation, although most of us were able to strengthen their righteous thoughts, some were in unstable frames of mind.

At this point, success was still out of reach and those involved suffered from physical and mental fatigue. To deal with the situation as firm practitioners, our Fa-study group organized Fa study sessions, which helped us to reverse our gloomy states of mind. We reviewed Teacher's lectures and adjusted our thoughts, which helped us understand our responsibility as Falun Dafa disciples assisting in Teacher's Fa-rectification. We realized that we are shouldering historical vows and missions and that the minds of practitioners should not revert to the thinking of everyday people. We decided to send forth righteous thoughts around the clock to stop any interference at its roots. Practitioners were divided into groups that sent forth righteous thoughts at alternate hours.

Practitioners realized that Ms. Dongmei's family was not familiar with Falun Dafa. Whenever a problem arose, they blamed Ms. Dongmei. We understood how they felt, but weren't quite sure nor comfortable with what to do. We thought that we should help them solve their misunderstandings. Practitioner A found out that Ms. Dongmei's husband couldn't eat and sleep well for a few days, so she decided to talk to him about Falun Dafa and ease his mind.

Practitioner A cooked a good meal and took it to his home. His whole family thanked her with tears in their eyes. Fellow practitioner A said, "You don't have to be grateful, as our Teacher told us,"

I also told him, "We practitioners, are one body. We are of one family." Practitioners visited the family and helped them come to understand Falun Dafa. We said, "Your wife said that she was in poor health before practicing Falun Gong. She had visited many hospitals, seen many medical experts, and practiced many types of qigong, but none was successful. But as soon as she began practicing Falun Gong, she suddenly became healthy." Without a second thought, he answered, "Yes, this is true. All of us know that Falun Dafa is good." Practitioner A responded, "That is the reason why she went out to tell people about Falun Gong. Police officers arrested her for money. The reward for arresting one practitioner is 3,000 yuan. Aren't they wicked? Furthermore, since your wife became a practitioner, your family has been rewarded with a harmonious life, good jobs, good children, and a good daughter-in-law!" Ms. Dongmei's husband finally understood, "That's why we supported her practicing Falun Gong."

Practitioners took turns helping Dongmei's family in many ways. They helped them understand that they were not alone, and that practitioners were like kinfolks. Ms. Dongmei's husband said to each practitioner, "You, practitioners are really good. We salute you!"

Practitioners are One Body

Practitioners continued sending forth righteous thoughts around the clock to eliminate the vicious elements that were persecuting Ms. Dongmei. Those that were able to see with their third eyes told us what they saw and thus could help solidify practitioners righteous thoughts. At the same time, practitioners started an all-out truth clarification effort, especially to all those who were involved and knew about the arrest. They told them about Ms. Dongmei becoming physically healthy and improving her moral character. The practitioners helped wake up people's conscience.

Some department heads and workers, after obtaining an understanding about what Falun Dafa was all about, helped quite a bit in the rescue effort. We all appreciated their goodwill and that they were willing to get involved in the rescue. This was only possible because of the truth clarification efforts.

Falun Dafa coordinators were very involved in helping the family. Also, practitioners from surrounding areas joined the sending forth righteous thoughts group to help rescue Ms. Dongmei.

Strengthening the Family

In the process of rescuing Ms. Dongmei, the family's understanding weaved back and forth. When the son was released from prison, they believed that it had to do with paying money. We discussed the issue among practitioners and told them, "Turning over money wouldn't achieve our goal. If the greedy police demanded 100,000 yuan per person, we couldn't comply with such demand, right? Furthermore, when the police see that you are willing to give money, they might leak news about sentencing her to a prison term."

The person helping in the son's rescue efforts claimed that the boy wouldn't have been released without having paid money. The practitioners patiently discussed the issue with Ms. Dongmei's family, especially when her son talked about the brutal situation in the detention center, which made his father very emotional. Aside from sending forth righteous thoughts, the only thing we could do was to be there for them, and advise and encourage them to believe in Falun Dafa's Teacher.

To strengthen our righteous thoughts, our Fa-study group kept in mind what Teacher said,

"When some Dafa disciples see evil beings, they send out Falun and Dafa's divine powers to eliminate the evil. There are also students who have set certain times when the world's murderers and assailants who beat people will receive retribution. They have effectively eliminated evil factors and restrained the bad people." ("Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful," April 24, 2001)

Our compassionate Teacher helped us realize the importance of immediately lengthening the time of sending forth righteous thoughts with the message to release Ms. Dongmei within three days without any conditions! Also, we strengthened her will to eliminate bad elements that stopped her from leaving the detention center with her head held high.

While sending forth righteous thoughts, some fellow practitioners envisioned sending numerous sharp arrows and needles targeting the evil elements in other dimensions in the place where Ms. Dongmei was detained. As all of our righteous thoughts were becoming stronger and stronger, a miracle happened. The next night, Ms. Dongmei walked out of the detention center. This helped everyone recognize the power of strong righteous thoughts, as well as the magical and supernatural power of Falun Dafa.
