(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zuo Guoqian, a resident of the Banan District, Chongqing City, used to suffer rheumatoid arthritis spondylitis. His spine hurt terribly and he couldn't turn over in bed. It took him more than two hours for a trip to the outhouse just outside his door. His condition was life threatening and he led a difficult and unhappy life. Mr. Zuo began to practice Falun Dafa in May 1998. After just one month, all of his ailments disappeared.

After the persecution of Falun Gong began, on July 6, 2005, several 610 Office agents broke into Mr. Zuo Guoqian's home. They arrested Mr. Zuo and ransacked his home without a search warrant, taking Falun Dafa books, truth-clarification materials and a cassette player.

Zuo Guoqian was detained in the Banan District Detention Center for one month. During this period, he was forced to do long hours of labor, gluing medicine bags and other items, to make money for the detention center. The living conditions were extremely bad. A room that normally accommodates eight people was overcrowded with up to 15 or 16 people.

On the morning of September 9, 2005, Mr. Zuo Guoqian was sent to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in the Beipei District, Chongqing City and was detained there for one year. During that period, he endured numerous tortures.

The Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City sent newly-arrived Falun Gong practitioners to the group drill team for persecution, forcing them to wash clothes and dishes, and clean the toilets and bathroom. The other prisoners there are incited by the guards to beat or curse practitioners. Prisoners assigned to monitor practitioners stole the practitioners' money and credit cards for their personal use. As further torment and humiliation, the guards even limited the practitioners' restroom use, forced them to sit and stand for long periods of time and only allowed them two hours of sleep at night.

Mr. Zuo Guoqian was released on September 8, 2009, after enduring severe persecution and torture.
