(Clearwisdom.net) The following persecution events occurred in Yinchuan City, Shizuishan City, Wuzhong City, Qingtongxia City, Zhongwei City, and Guyuan City, all in the Ningxia Region, in 2009.

1. On February 24, 2009, the Xixia District Court in Yinchuan City tried practitioner Mr. Luan Ning. Under the command of the Ningxia 610 Office, officers from the security divisions of the Xingqing District, the Jinfeng District, and the Xixia District, and staff from the Xianghe Neighborhood Committee, broke into practitioners' homes and arrested six of them.

2. On February 15, 2009, three people from Beijing shared their torture techniques with guards in the Yinchuan City Prison. They provided design drawings, and the prison made ten tiger bench torture chairs. Practitioners imprisoned in Pingluo Prison, Wuzhong Prison, and Guyuan Prison were then transferred to Yinchuan Prison and subjected to brainwashing and torture. Guards involved in the torture included Wei Jun, Tian Yongyu, Li Hongbing, Zhang Lin, and Zhang Quanhong.

3. On March 2, 2009, less than two months after she was released from prison, Ms. Su Qingling from Yongning County was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.

4. On March 7, 2009, officers arrested Ms. Wang Yuzhou, Ms. Wang Yuxiang, and Ms. Pan Yiyuan, and searched their homes. Ms. Wang Yuzhou was later taken to a brainwashing center.

5. On March 7, 2009, officers arrested three practitioners from Wuzhong City and Qingtongxia City. One practitioner's home was searched and his whereabouts are unknown.

6. On March 14, 2009, officers arrested Ms. Zhang Feng'e and Ms. Jing Yuling in Zhongwei City. On the second day, they arrested two more practitioners while they were searching the homes of Ms. Zhang and Ms. Jing. They later arrested the husband of an imprisoned practitioner.

7. On March 25, 2009, officers from the Dongjie Police Station in the Jinfeng District of Yinchuan City arrested Ms. Zhang Guifang, who lived in the Jinfeng District.

8. In late March 2009, Mr. Ding Fadong from Yinchuan City had to leave home to avoid further harassment. Even after he left, the Neighborhood Committee kept harassing his family.

9. On April 1, 2009, agents from the Ningxia City 610 Office took Ms. Yang Jie from Zhongwei City to a brainwashing center the same day that she was released after four years in prison.

10. In early April 2009, agents from the Ningxia Region 610 Office took Ms. Cao Guilan to a brainwashing center. Ms. Cao had been imprisoned for several years.

11. On April 17, 2009, officers from the Xingqing District Police Department in Yinchuan City arrested Mr. Liu Sizu at his home.

11. In May 2009, the Xixia District Court in Yinchuan City secretly sentenced Mr. Luan Ning to four years in prison. Mr. Luan was arrested on September 19, 2008. His parents appealed for the release of their innocent son at many government offices. Government agents threatened them, verbally abused them, and made things difficult for them. The agents prevented them from visiting their son. Ms. Luo Canhua, the mother of Mr. Luan, died fighting injustice on February 27, 2010.

Mr. Luan was a college graduate. Before the persecution began, he was a deputy division chief of the Ningxia Region Human Resources Office. After he appealed for the right to practice Falun Dafa in Beijing in 2000, he was sentenced to three years in prison and fired from his position.

13. On June 4, 2009, officers from the Pingluo County Domestic Division arrested Mr. Guo on a street in Pingluo County. Mr. Guo, who is in his 60s, is a practitioner from the Shizuishan City, Ningxia Region.

14. On June 5, 2009, the daughter of Mr. Guo was arrested.

15. Around June 10, 2009, police arrested Ms. Wang Yulan and searched her home. Ms. Wang, in her 60s, is a practitioner in Shizuishan City.

16. Around June 10, 2009, officers from the Huinong District Domestic Security Division in Shizuishan City arrested Ms. Wang Li, who is in her 40s. They searched her home.

17. Around June 20, police searched the home of Mr. Wang Weicheng twice in Shizuishan City.

18. In the first six months of 2009, under direction from the 610 Office, guards in the Pingluo Prison abused imprisoned practitioners:

Mr. Jiang Tao, Mr. Qiao Jianhui, and Mr. Zhao Lin were held in a disciplinary prison section.
Mr. Wang Jiaming was held in a sick and disabled prison section, and not allowed to contact anyone.
Mr. Wand Yuzhu and Mr. Zhao Yuhu were forced to make fake eyelashes and peel beans.
Mr. Xie Yiqiang and Mr. Zhao Lin refused to recite the prison regulations and persisted in doing the Falun Dafa exercises. They were confined in solitary compartments and not allow to sleep before 1:00 a.m. for their peaceful disobedience. They were slapped in the face by inmates and forced to stand still for long periods of time because they remained silent during roll call.
Mr. Wang Yuzhu was held in an enhanced electronic monitoring cell because he had an electronic book. He refused to reveal the source to guards, so they had police arrest his brother, Mr. Wang Yuzhou; his sister, Ms. Wang Yuxiang; and his ex-wife, Ms. Pan Yiyuan, and had their homes searched. The prison administration later illegally extended his prison term.

19. On July 16, 2009, agents from the Ningxia Region 610 Office and officers from Guyuan City arrested Ms. Zhang Lifang, a practitioner from Guyuan City, at her daughter's home in the Xingqing District, Yinchuan City. She was then held at the Ningxia Women's Forced Labor Camp for a
two-year term even though no legal procedures had been followed. Ms. Zhang, 49, had been arrested three times, and was subjected to 18 months of forced labor in March 2005.

20. On the afternoon of July 20, 2009, police arrested Ms. Gu Jingjie and searched her home. Before being secretly sentenced to five years in prison and sent to the Yinchuan Women's Prison, her whereabouts were unknown to her family. Ms. Gu is a retired teacher from the Yinchuan Sixth Middle School. She was subjected to 18 months of forced labor in October 2007.

21. On July 30, 2009, agents from the Ningxia 610 Office hired people to monitor practitioners. They arrested Ms. Zhang Fang and Ms. Feng Jianhong and searched their homes.

22. On October 17, 2009, officers from the Jiefangxijie Police Station in Yinchuan City arrested Ms. Shan Jining at Guangming Square. Ms. Shan has been held in the Yinchuan Detention Center. Ms. Shan, 39, appealed twice for the right to practice Falun Dafa in Beijing. She was subjected to three years of forced labor in 2004. She was sent to a brainwashing center by the 610 Office immediately after her release in 2007. Mr. Wang Desheng, her husband, has been imprisoned in the Yinchuan Prison since 1999, with a term totaling more than 12 years (4 years plus 8 years).

23. Around October 2009, Ms. Dai Yuzhen was secretly sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. She is imprisoned at the Ningxia Women's Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Dai was sentenced to three years in prison in 2004 and incarcerated at the Ningxia Women's Prison. Agents from the Ningxia 610 Office took her to a brainwashing center immediately after her release on September 26, 2007.

24. On November 4, 2009, the Qingtongxia City Procuratorate charged Ms. Zheng Fengying, Mr. Wu Jinrong, and Ms. Wang Xuefang. Ms. Zheng left home to avoid being arrested.

25. On December 9, 2009, officers from the Dianan Township Police Station arrested Ms. Chen Shuqin and Ms. Wang Huiping from Longde County, Guyuan City, for talking about Falun Dafa to passersby in Dianan Township, Longde County. That same night, agents of the Longde County 610 Office and officers from the Chengguan Police Station in Longde County searched their homes and seized their computers and other personal property. Ms. Chen is a doctor at the Longde County Hospital.
