Teaching the Falun Dafa exercises at a community center

I began practicing Falun Gong a few months before the persecution began on July 20, 1999. With Master's guidance, we as Dafa disciples at that time came to understand the true nature of this persecution. Since then I joined the ranks of Dafa disciples who would uphold the righteousness and goodness of Falun Dafa in the face of a brutal persecution that has continued more than a decade.

Since 2003, I have been thinking of how to let more people see the goodness of Dafa through their own, firsthand experience. Therefore I opened free classes in a community center to introduce Falun Dafa to everyone who wanted to learn it. Attendees have been mostly Westerners. There are two classes a week, one in the evening for working people and one in the daytime for others. We practice the five exercises and study the Fa. For newcomers, I also tell them about the marvelous history of Dafa spreading first in mainland China, then in the rest of the world. In these classes, I have the opportunity to clarify the truth in depth about the persecution of Falun Dafa and the means Dafa disciples have been using to resist the persecution for the past eleven years. In these classes, with Master's great benevolence and care, almost everyone has experienced the greatness of Dafa, and have been cured of their diseases, major and minor. Some see results very quickly, even during the first session. Many also have their celestial eye opened and can see Falun on their body or in the room, or colored light and others things. From time to time, we share our experiences in cultivating the heart and understanding the Fa, and how Dafa has brought change in our daily life. Some share moving stories about recovering from illness, about new understandings of higher principles, and about better relationships with family members or at work. After the class, what students choose to do varies: some stop because of lack of motivation or predestination, a few continue by joining the big group practice and Dafa activities. The majority continue to practice at home and some also share the practice with others regularly.

Through introducing Dafa to new students, I learn to be diligent myself. I practice the exercises and study the Fa before going to class. Though it is not a major project, and slow at times, I am happy to continue because I feel Dafa is spreading into people's hearts by Master's great benevolence compassion.

Distributing flyers

Distributing flyers on the street is another way for me to tell people about the greatness of Dafa and its persecution by evilness in mainland China. Therefore, I regularly distribute flyers alone or with fellow practitioners. I notice that when we do Dafa activities together, people are more eager to take our flyers as if their knowing sides have been awakened. While passing out flyers, I have enlightened to many principles in cultivation. For example, during Buddha Sakyamuni's time, his disciples begged for alms in order to develop in ordinary people the compassion and good predestination with cultivation practice. Nowadays, Dafa disciples offer salvation to people without asking anything in return. "Instead, what we get is something everyday people cannot obtain--even though they want to--except through cultivation practice." (Zhuan Falun) In fact, what I obtain is greater understanding about human life. How pitiful to be lost in the maze. There is no way out no matter what social rank people have. Falun Dafa is truly saving people. No matter what status you have, it is better to have Dafa in your heart. This is true happiness. While distributing flyers, I always feel an enormous energy field forming in the area and benefiting everyone. People smile at me and some say "You are beautiful," even though I am approaching seventy years old!

Master's greatness and compassion have no limit. Master gives us the chance to help and improve ourselves at any level.

I also have the opportunity to help in translating Clearwisdom articles into my language for a corresponding Falun Dafa website. This enables me to keep up with Fa-rectification and have a sense of unity with fellow practitioners in China and all over the world. This also helps me in my clarifying the truth to Westerners.

I thank our benevolent Master from deep inside my heart because even with my limited capabilities and my limited level of cultivation practice, Master still allows me to participate in the Fa-rectification period as a Dafa disciple.
