(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] An Elderly Practitioner Arrested
On May 3, 2010, a practitioner in her 60s was distributing Shen Yun DVDs at the back gate of the Children's Hospital along Wenhua Street. After a young man reported her to the police, officers came and took her to the Chongqing Police Station. When the police tried to pull her out of the car, she resisted and was pulled to the ground. At around 6:30 p.m. the same day, her whereabouts were no longer known. One possibility was that the police from the Domestic Security Division took her away.
2. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Police from Hunan Road Police Station Harass Dou Wenqiang at His Workplace
On April 30, 2010, the police from the Hunan Road Police Station in Gulou District, Nanjing City, went to Mr. Dou Wenqiang's workplace and harassed him.
3. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Guilian from Heitai Town, Mishan City Disappeared about Seven to Eight Years Ago
4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tang Zengye and Three Other Practitioners Released
Mr. Tang Zengye, an employee of the Daqing Third Oil Drilling Company, was released on April 9, 2010.
Ms. Gao Xiulan was released on April 19, 2010.
On April 23, 2010, Shi Baosheng, an employee of the Daqing Fourth Drilling Company, was released from the Daqing Prison.
On April 27, 2010, Mr. Dai Qingchang, an employee of Xingshugang Middle School in Daqing City, returned home.
5. [Ji'an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Tian Guiying and Ms. Tian Guixin Arrested at Home at Dawn on May 6, 2010
6. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Yanling Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison
On December 22, 2009, Jiang Cheng, the director of the Yi County Domestic Security Division and over twenty police officers from the Yizhou Town Police Station surrounded the apartment building of Ms. Jiang Yanling and arrested her. She was then sent to the Jinzhou City Fourth Detention Center. On March 23, 2010, the Yi County Court held a secret hearing on her case.
Recently, the Yi County Court secretly sentenced Ms. Jiang to 13 years in prison. Ms. Jiang defended her innocence in the court and appealed.

7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Jingwen Detained in Gongzhuling Prison, Family Not Allowed to Visit Him
Mr. Yu Jingwen is a practitioner from Fulongquan Town, Songyuan City. In September 2007, the officials from the Nong'an County 610 Office arrested him at his home. He was detained at the Wugongli Forced Labor Camp for more than a year. During that time, the court held hearings on his case twice. He was then sentenced to five years in prison and sent to Gongzhuling Prison.
In January 2010, Mr. Yu's younger brother went to Gongzhuling Prison twice to visit him but the prison officials refused to let him see Mr. Yu with various excuses.
8. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Feilan Arrested
On April 25, 2010, Ms. Zhu Feilan was arrested while working at her customer's home. She had previously been detained in the Shanghai Women's Prison for three years.
9. [Yantan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jingyan Held in Custody at the Daji Police Station
Ms. Zhang Jingyan is a practitioner from Fushan District, Yantan City. On May 6, 2010, while she was clarifying the truth to people about Falun Gong, she was reported to the authorities. The police then arrested her and sent her to the Daji Police Station.
10. [Yingshan County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ding Zukuan, Mr. Ding Zujun and Ms. Ding Jifeng Arrested
On the morning of April 1, 2010, four police officers from the Pingchang County Police Department and two police officers from the Yingshan County Police Department broke into the home of Mr. Ding Zukuan, Mr. Ding Zujun and Ms. Ding Jifeng and arrested them. Mr. Ding Zujun was released that afternoon; however, the whereabouts of Mr. Ding Zukuan and Ms. Ding Jifeng are unknown.
11. [Jize County, Hebei Province] Police from Shuangta Police Station Arrest Ms. Hao Xianmei and Ms. Wang Jufeng
Ms. Hao Xianmei and Ms. Wang Jufeng are practitioners from Zhaozhuang Village, Xinbaodian Township, Yongnian County. On the morning of April 26, 2010, they went to the market in Jize County to clarify the truth to people but were arrested by the police from the Shuangta Police Station in Jize County. They are being detained at the Jize County Detention Center.

12. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Arrested at Market
On April 25, 2010, a practitioner from Suning County was reported to authorities while clarifying the truth at the market. Zhang Ruiqiang, the director of the Suning County Domestic Security Division and several police officers arrested her and then ransacked her home.

13. [Xianyang City, Shannxi Province] Ms. Wang Xueqing Arrested
Ms. Wang Xueqing, in her 60s, is a practitioner from Xianyang City. On the morning of May 6, 2010, she and another elderly practitioner were arrested while clarifying the truth to people. That afternoon, her home was ransacked. Currently, both practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.
14. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhang Shenglun Arrested
Ms. Zhang Shenglun is an employee of Jiujiang County Civil Affairs Bureau. On the afternoon of April 30, 2010, the police from the Jiujiang County Domestic Security Division arrested her at her office.

15. [Gaoping City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Xiangmei and Ms. Guo Rongxian Arrested
On April 23, 2010, Ms. Li Xiangmei (58 years old) and Ms. Guo Rongxian (56 years old) went to Jiaojiagou Village in Shenlong Town, Gaoping City to distribute truth-clarifying materials. A local villager reported them to the authorities, and the police from the Shenglong Town Police Station arrested them. At midnight on the same day, the officials from the Gaoping City 610 Office and the police from the Gaoping City Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Li's home and confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books and some personal belongings. Then they went to Ms. Guo's home and tried to ransack it but failed. On April 25, Yang Changchun, the former director of the Gaoping City Domestic Security Division, led police officers to Ms. Guo's home and ransacked it. Both practitioners are being detained at the Gaoping City Detention Center.

16. [Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhou Fenglian Arrested
Ms. Zhou Fenglian is a practitioner from Guangfeng County, Shangrao City. Recently, Zhou Nengwu, the deputy director of the Guangfeng County Police Department, and his officers arrested her for clarifying the truth to her relative.

17. [Guiyang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhang Chuanlin Arrested
Mr. Zhang Zhuanlin is a practitioner from Guiyang County, Zhuzhou City. On May 4, 2010, he was arrested and then detained at the Guiyang County Detention Center
18. [Wuhai City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Xingfang Arrested
Ms. Yu Xingfang is a practitioner from Huangling Village in Caidian District, Wuhai City. On May 6, 2010, Yang Zhengzhu, an official from Huangling Village, worked with police from the Xinnong Street Police Station to arrest her. Her whereabouts are unknown.
19. [Wuhai City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Aiyu Sent to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center
Ms. Zhao Aiyu, in her 50s, makes a living by selling breakfast pastry. At around 10:00 a.m. on April 22, 2010, the police from Yongqing Street in Jiang'an District, Wuhai City and Wu Chunhua, the director of the Tongrenyi Residential Committee, broke into Ms. Zhao's home and ransacked it. They took her into custody and sent her to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Zhao's husband and son work in another city. Her daughter, an elementary school student, was left alone.
