(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts staged four awe-inspiring shows at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House on July 23-25, 2010.

Mr. Pelosi, an investment banker

"I Really Enjoyed the Pageantry!"Says Investment Banker

Mr. Pelosi, who is an investment banker, took his wife, 8-year-old daughter, and a cousin to enjoy the show.

"It was my first time seeing Chinese dance. I really enjoy the pageantry, the colors, and the flow of the costumes. I love the symphony--the orchestra, which I think is wonderful. Very interesting sounds," said. Mr. Pelosi after seeing the performance.

He said that he enjoyed the erhu, "Its different use of strings. A different tone" ... "It had a great sound and rhythm." Mr. Pelosi and his family enjoyed the wide variety of performances. "It was also nice the way the show flowed between slow, thoughtful pieces and things that had a lot of action, which I thought the children enjoyed," he explained.

The pageantry of Shen Yun really caught Mr. Pelosi's attention: "The colors, the design of the costumes. For example, were those dresses the women were wearing made of bamboo? They were wearing dresses where they moved ever so subtly and they made sounds [In a Miao Village.] That's really something I don't think I've ever seen. That's part of the pageantry."

"Frankly, just the free-flowing costumes and the use of--what do they call it--the handkerchief dance? ["Handkerchiefs"]--that was a good part of it."

Mr. Pelosi said that he was surprised to see the inclusion of two performances portraying the current persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

"I mean the oppression I understood--I was quite surprised by that, frankly--that it was expressed that way, that people aren't allowed to practice religion--millions of people."

"I'll be back next year. I will bring my other daughter," concluded Mr. Pelosi.

Boxing Promoter Touched by Shen Yun

Peter Bowes, a promoter of boxing events

Also in the audience was Peter Bowes, a boxing promoter who has worked with HBO, ESPN and others, thought the show was "enchanting."

"I noticed the skill of the male dancers ... They were very skilled and disciplined in their art. It was beautiful, with the costumes and so forth."

Mr. Bowes also thought the female dancers were "absolutely lovely." "I was hypnotized watching them."

He continued: "The background, the music, the orchestra, the soprano and tenor who sang tonight were excellent, too. I found the whole show to be very well put together.

"I was just very impressed with the whole experience. I'm going to tell everybody about it."

Commenting on the orchestra, Mr. Bowes said, "I like the music because it seemed to be somewhat of an infusion between Chinese and Western classical music. I've come to this opera house many times to see operas ... Shen Yun had an infusion of classical Western music but also Chinese cultural music. I thought it was a very nice fusion [of the two]."

Mr. Bowes thought the different cultural stories were wonderfully portrayed, but there was one in particular that stood out for him: "I loved the part where the woman who was put under the mountain was freed and saved and brought back to her family and there was a happy ending--I liked that."

Referring to the dance set which depicted the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China at the hands of the Chinese communist regime, Mr. Bowes said, "Even though it was an act, [with] all the beauty and artistic love and everything that was there--I found that [part] a little tough to watch."

Concluding, he expressed his support for the practitioners suffering from the persecution: "I want to hug them. I don't want to fight anybody, I want to hug those dancers."

Impressionist Painter: "The Show Added a New Dimension to My Life"

Ms. Nadine Sacha is a impressionist artist whose work is internationally acclaimed

Also in the audience was Ms. Nadine Sacha, a French impressionist artist whose work is collected by many celebrities.

"This show is absolutely awesome. It is incredible. As an artist, I can appreciate the color of the costumes, the passion, the precision, and the energy, enthused Ms. Sacha.

"It is also inspiring for me to paint and to do gorgeous painting because this spectacle surpasses everything, ballet, opera--it is incredible! I was just blown away, mesmerized, and I am thankful for this magnificent, magnificent spectacle. I will not forget it so easily," she said.

Ms. Sacha was further captivated by the spiritual aspect of the show, saying: "Everything has a special meaning for me ... everything matched together, everything blended in a beautiful harmony, incredible. It was just beautiful--it is unforgettable."

She decided to attend the show after seeing it advertised on TV. She remembers thinking to herself, "I need this inspiration and it is uplifting."

"And everything being said, what can I say? It added a new dimension to my life, and I am grateful for that," she concluded.
