(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in ten provinces. In this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Jiang Xiurong, Ms. Zhao Cuiyun, and Ms. Zhou Sanxiang, who were arrested on July 22 and July 23, 2010, are now being held in the Jinan Brainwashing Center.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xia Guizhi and Her Daughter Arrested
During the afternoon of July 27, 2010, Ms. Xia Guizhi and Ms. Zhang from Changchun City were explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people in the neighborhood of Nanhu. They were arrested by officers from the Weixinglu Police Station in Changchun City. Ms. Xia's granddaughter was with her at the time and was also taken away. At about 7:00 p.m. the same day, officers from the Weixinglu Police Station went to Ms. Xia's home, took her computer and printer, then arrested her young daughter, Ms. Li You. They did not send Ms. Xia's granddaughter home until about 10:00 p.m. Now Ms. Xia, her daughter, and Ms. Zhang are being held in the Weizigou Detention Center in Changchun City.

3. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Yanling Jailed for Over Eight Months--Her Arms and Legs Became Numb From Persecution
Ms. Jiang Yanling from Chengguan Township was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County Public Security Bureau. On December 22, 2009, Ms. Jiang was sentenced to to 13 years imprisonment. She has been jailed in the Jinzhou City Detention Center for over eight months. On July 27, 2010, her family member visited her and saw that Ms. Jiang's arms and legs have become numb as a result of the persecution.
4. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Additional Facts about Arrested Practitioners in Gongzhutun Town
Ms. Zhang Hong and Mr. Mu Qinghua from Pingtuozitun, Matun Village, Gongzhutun Town, were turned in by a villager and arrested by officers from the Gongzhutun Town Police Station at about 2:00 p.m. on July 19, 2010. The two had been explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Gongzhutun Town. They are now being held in the Shenyang City Zaohua Detention Center
At the same time, officers from the Gongzhutun Town Police Station ransacked the home of Ms. Zhang and Mr. Mu home and took away Falun Gong books and materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong along with other items.

5. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Up-to-date Situation about the Persecution of Mr. Wu Hongjun
Mr. Wu Hongjun from Daqing City is still being held in Dulitun Detention Center in the Rang District. Mr. Wu was arrested by police officers from the Rang District on the afternoon of March 28, 2010, when he was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public. Officers searched his bag and found discs, Chinese currency with facts about Falun Gong written on it, newsweeklies, brochures, etc.
On June 8, 2010, the Rang District Court sentenced Mr. Wu to three years of imprisonment.
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Yuping Arrested
Ms. Jiang Yuping from the Tiexi District of Shenyang City was arrested around July 20, 2010. She is now being held in the Xiaoyu Brainwashing Center.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Yufan Tortured by Guards at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Yang Yufan from Jinzhou City was jailed in the Third Team at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in May 2010. Zhang Huan, the head of the Third Team, and guards Zhang Jun and Zhang Zhuohui tortured Ms. Ya by hanging her up by her handcuffed wrists, keeping her in a solitary confinement cell, and shocking her with electrical batons. They even shocked Ms. Yang's breasts with electric batons.

On the afternoon of July 29, 2010, Mr. Wu Shuyu from Gongzhuling City was arrested in front of his house by eight or nine officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Gongzhuling City Public Security Bureau.
10. [Beijing] Mr. Zhou Ruixin from Fangshan District Arrested
Mr. Zhou Ruixin, a 65-year-old man and from the Fangshan District of Beijing, was arrested at the Changgou Examination Station in the Fangshan District on July 27, 2010. He is now being held in the Fangshan Detention Center.

On July 20, 2010, Ms. Li Yanchun from Beijing was arrested by police officers at her home in Beijing. She is now being held in the Tongzhou District Detention Center.
12. [Tianjin] Five Falun Gong Practitioners in Ji County Arrested
On the afternoon of July 27, 2010, practitioners from Ji County in Tianjin, including Ms. Zhang Liqin, Ms. Meng Qingfen, Ms. Qiao Fengcong, Ms. Yang Limin, and driver Mr. Liu, were falsely accused and arrested by a patrolling policeman in Ji County. They were taken to the Domestic Security Division in Ji County

On the evening of July 28, Ms. Qiao, Ms. Yang, and Mr. Liu were released. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Meng were jailed.

Mr. Zhang Zhaoli from Pucheng County in Nanping City was arrested in front of the Nanping City People's Bank by officers from Nanping City State Security Bureau at about 11:00 a.m. on July 28, 2010.

Ms. Gu Hong, an employee of the Pingdingshan City Law Enforcement Bureau, was arrested by the Pingdingshan City 610 Office on July 23, 2010, and taken to the Pingdingshan City First Detention Center.

Mr. Yang Wenjie from Zhaoyuan City was arrested by staff from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office on the evening of July 25, 2010, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public.
19. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region] Mr. Tian Weicheng Arrested
Mr. Tian Weicheng from Urumqi City was arrested in November 2009. He is now in the Tianshan District Detention Center in Urumqi City.
20. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Fengying and Ms. Zhao Guiying's Family Persecuted
On the evening of July 24, 2010, 80-year-old Ms. Dong Fengying and 70-year-old Ms. Zhao Guiying were advising people to be good. They were falsely accused by people that did not know the truth about Falun Gong and were arrested.
At about 10:00 p.m., agents from the Dongchangfu District 610 Office collaborated with police officers to barge into Ms. Dong's home. They took away Ms. Dong's grandson's computer. Ms. Dong's daughter-in-law was jailed in place of her mother-in-law for three days and was not released until three thousand yuan had been extorted from her. Later, police officers took Ms. Dong's son (Mr. Lu Naihu) and Ms. Dong's grandson (who was not a Falun Gong practitioner) to the Yuezhuang Brainwashing Center and have been holding them there ever since.
21. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Cuifen Persecuted
On July 9, 2009, Ms. Zhang Cuifen, along with several other practitioners, went to Nianziyu Township in Kuancheng County to distribute materials which explained the facts about Falun Gong. They were falsely accused and arrested by officers from the Nianziyu Police Station. The officers punched them, kicked them, and twisted their arms. They were then taken to the Huangyazi Detention Center in Kuancheng County. Later, without following any legal procedures, the authorities sent practitioners to different detention centers. Ms. Zhang Cuifen was sent to the Kaiping District First Detention Center in Tangshan City. Guards tried to force her to write the so-called three statements and watch videos defaming the teacher of Falun Gong, Li Hongzhi. She was monitored by collaborators 24 hours a day and was not allowed to practice the Falun Gong exercises. She was denied use a toilet and was forced to perform hard labor without pay.
Due to this persecution, Ms. Zhang Cuiying, who had previously been healthy, suffered from coronary heart disease, angina, and diabetes. She was not released until she was examined in three different hospitals.
22. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Yukui and Mr. Laoyang Arrested
On the evening of July 28, 2010, Mr. Li Yukui and Mr. Laoyang went out to distribute materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong and were arrested. There whereabouts are currently unknown.

23. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region] Ms. Liu Hong Arrested
At around 11:30 a.m. on July 25, 2010, when Ms. Liu Hong went out to run an errand, she was arrested in front of the apartment building where she lived. Staff from the Yinchuanlu Office in the Xinshi District made the arrest. She was taken to the Community Office.
Ms. Liu was the deputy director of Xinjiang Kangsheng Woolen Reforged Skin Ltd. She was sent to the Xinjiang Women's Forced Labor Camp in 2001 and held there for three years. After her release, she worked but was often followed and harassed at her workplace.
Ms. Liu Hong's husband, Mr. Lu Zhixiang, is employed at the Xinjiang Farming Machine Quality Control Station. He was sent to the Xinjiang Fifth Prison in 2001 and persecuted there for seven years. After being released, because he refused to write reports about his thoughts, his employer gave him only 700 yuan per month for his living expenses.

24. [Hongjiang City, Hunan Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Ms. Fan Shunmei and Ms. Chen Yanling
On July 19, 2010, Ms. Fan Shunmei and Ms. Chen Yanling from Hongjiang City were arrested by the Qiancheng Law and Order Team when the two practitioners were explaining facts about Falun Gong in Qiancheng Town. They were taken to the Qiancheng Town Police Station. The Hongjiang City 610 Office then collaborated with police officers to go to the homes of Ms. Fan and Ms. Chen. They took away Falun Gong books, computers, printing equipment, and other items.

26. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiao Yingxue Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Xiao Yingxue, who was arrested and taken to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center on June 26, 2010, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public, was sent to a forced labor camp for a term of one year and three months. She is now in the Fifth Team of the Hewan Forced Labor Camp.
27. [Hebei Province] Additional Information about the Persecution of Mr. Zheng Wei in the Fifth Team of Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Zheng Wei, 32, lived in the Shuidong Building in the Kaiping District. On the afternoon of September 3, 2008, when he was distributing materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong in buildings in the Qiaotun Community, Lubei District, Tangshan City, he was arrested and taken to the Qiaotun Police Station of the Tangshan Public Security Bureau, Lubei Branch. On September 26, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor and is now in Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.
In August 2009, Mr. Zheng, who is from Tangshan City, Hebei Province, shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" As a result, he was beaten and severely wounded. His term was then unlawfully extended for an extra five months. After being persecuted in solitary confinement for several months, both his body and mind were severely damaged. He suffered from incontinence, and the severe beating caused him to get chronic tinnitus and headaches. He is unable to take care of himself.
To conceal their crimes, the guards in the forced labor camp fed him with medicine that damages one's mind. His elderly mother came to visit him from a thousand miles away, but they were not allowed to meet.
