Eleven Falun Gong Practitioners Sent to Brainwashing Center in Jianyang City, Sichuan Province

Aug. 28, 2010 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Sichuan, China

(Clearwisdom.net) Eleven Falun Gong practitioners from Jianyang City, Sichuan Province have been arrested since June 29, 2010, including Xu Suhua, Li Shiqiong, Zhou Rongzhen, Wu Bangrong, Jiang Suying, Wen Xia, Chen Yongjian, Wang Liqun, Fang Shucai, and two more whose names are unknown.

Wu Bangrong was arrested while clarifying the truth, while others were arrested directly from home. Some are being detained at the Erehu Brainwashing Center, while others are missing.

Jiang Suying, from Shibandeng County, Jianyang City, was arrested at noon on July 30, 2010, at her home, by seven people who took her to Erehu Brainwashing Center in Ziyang.

At the same time, Wen Xia from Shibandeng County was arrested by police and taken to the same center.

Three practitioners from Jianyang City were also arrested and taken to the Erehu Brainwashing Center on August 4, 2010. One is Fang Shucai, from Songlin No. 1 Team, Yucheng, Sancha County, Jianyang City. He was arrested by officials from four different divisions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The whereabouts of the other two are unknown.

After 6:00 p.m. on August 12, police officials arrested Chen Yongjian, who was selling goods at Chengbei Market in Jianyang City, and Wang Liqun from Chuanfuxiang in Jianyang City. The details of their arrests are yet to be investigated.

Nine additional practitioners were subjected to harassment but were not arrested. Some of them used righteous thoughts to protect themselves, and some were protected by people who knew the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong.

According to inside information from the CCP, the brainwashing center was opened because officials from the highest levels of the CCP called and ordered it. They were apparently very insistent on the phone. The money used for the persecution is directly allocated from a county's financial department, instead of being allocated from a local township or town as before. CCP officials said that this time Falun Gong practitioners must be "transformed." If they won't give up their practice, or won't sign the three statements, their sentences will be quite severe.
