(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 15 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Forced to Do Long-term Labor at Handan City Forced Labor Camp
About 20 practitioners are still being held in the Handan City Forced Labor Camp. Practitioners are forced to do long-term labor. They have to work overtime in their cells at night after a full day's work. They worked until midnight for more than 20 days during the hot summer days of June and July.
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xiufen and Mr. Zhang Zhanliang Arrested
Policemen Su Ning and Yu Weijiang from Dicun Township, Quyang County, arrested Ms. Zhao Xiufen and Mr. Zhang Zhanlliang from North Dongguo Village around 6:00 a.m. on August 16.
3. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hou Yayu and Ms. Xu Xiaolan Arrested
Ms. Hou Yayu and Ms. Xu Xiaolan from the Daqing No. 9 Oil Production Factory was reported for speaking with people about Falun Gong at around 4:00 p.m. on August 19. They were arrested by police from the Donghu Police Substation, and are being held at the detention center located in New Dongfeng Village.

4. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Teng Hongtao, Li Yi, and Deng Yulin Arrested
Mr. Teng Hongtao from Niuxintai Town is being held at the Shenyang City Prison. Mr. Li Yi is being held at the Weining Reformatory. Mr. Deng Yullin is being held at the Dalian City Nanguanyangling Prison.
5. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Further Information Regarding Five Previously Arrested Practitioners Including Ms. Liu Jinlian
Ms. Liu Jinlian, Ms. Liu Chunyu, and Ms. Qiu Yufang were arrested at their homes by officers from the Railway Police Station at noon on June 14, 2010. At noon on June 15 Ms. Yin Gaoshu and Ms. Li Qi were also arrested by officers from the Railway Police Station. The five practitioners were each sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Li Qi was sent to the Changsha City Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, though the four other practitioners were released on August 3.
6. [Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Sheng and Mr. Sun Tienong Sent to Hulan Prison
Mr. Sun Tienong and Mr. Xu Sheng were tried by the Acheng City Court on July 7, 2010. Mr. Sun Tienong, from Fangzheng County, Harbin City, was sentenced to five years of prison. Mr. Xu Sheng from Baicheng Village, Ashihe Township, Acheng City, was sentenced to four years of prison. They were sent to Hulan Prison on August 11.
7. [Wenan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Xiuqi, 44, Sent to Langfang City Brainwashing Center on August 11
8. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Du Youzhu Arrested
Mr. Du Youzhu was arrested by officers from the Xiaodian Police Station on August 14. He is being held at the Taiyuan City Xiaodian Detention Center.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Zhu Youquan Arrested
Mr. Zhu Youquan, who lives at South Lake Park, Chaoyang District, Beijing, was arrested on the morning of August 20, 2010. The local police searched his home and confiscated Dafa books and other personal belongs.

10. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Lian Shengqin Arrested
About 12 policemen from the Huangchuan County Domestic Security Division, led by Chen Lin, the head of the division, ransacked Ms. Lian Shengqin's home on August 17, 2010. They confiscated a cellphone, 500 yuan in cash, and Dafa materials. Ms. Lian was arrested and taken to Huangchuan County Hedian Detention Center.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Lianying's Term Extended by 15 Days
Ms. Zhang Lianying from Beijing has been held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two and a half years. Her term was supposed to end on October 19 this year, but labor camp officials extended her term by 15 days, claiming she "didn't obey the management" and was "insubordinate."
12. [Leqing City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Chen Wenying Forced to Leave Town
The Party secretary of Hongqiao Township, Leqing City, and about 40 others encircled Ms. Chen Wenying's home on the morning of August 17. They tried to arrest her. Ms. Chen managed to avoid the arrest and her current whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Cao County, Shandong Province] Further Information Regarding Several Practitioners Arrested in Cao County
Several practitioners were arrested by police, on orders from the Cao County 610 Office on July 14, 2010. Mr. Zhao Wenxing was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. His wife, Ms. Ge Xiurong, was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Another practitioner, Mr. Sun Guodong, was still in custody. Mr. Sun's son, Mr. Sun Wenguang, was also arrested even though he doesn't practice Falun Gong. The police released him after extorting 20,000 yuan from him.
14. [Cao County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Feng Yunxia Detained at the Zhenjiang City Detention Center
Several officers from the Dashikou Police Station ransacked Ms. Feng Yunxia's home and confiscated Dafa books, a printer, a stapler, a laptop, and a desktop computer. Ms. Feng is being held at the Zhenjiang City Detention center.

15. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Fanmei Arrested
Ms. Meng Fanmei, who is retired from the Changle County Power Supply Company, was arrested at around 8:30 p.m. on August 16.
16. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Sent to Brainwashing Center
Mr. Qin Hengbin, in his 50s, lives in North Baizhuang Village, Baizhuang Township, Shenze County. He was arrested at work, at noon on August 16, 2010. He was able to escape en route to the Baizhuang Township Government compound.
Ms. Xin Juncai, 73, who lives in Xiaozhiyao Village, Baizhuang Township, was arrested at home, at around 1:00 p.m. on August 16. Later she was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Brainwashing Center. It was not until 11:30 p.m. that her family discovered her whereabouts.
Ms. Lu Ping, in her 50s, lives in Shiqiaotou Village, Zhaoba Township, Shenze County. She was arrested by personnel from the Zhao Baxiang Township Government on August 16, and later sent to Shijiazhuang City Brainwashing Center.

17. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Lianqin Arrested
Ms. Zhang Lianqin, 64, lives in the Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City. She was reported for speaking with people about Falun Gong near Yuci Women's Prison on July 30. She was arrested by the Yuci Domestic Security Division. The police ransacked her home in the Yuci District and confiscated Dafa videotapes and a paper cutter. She is being held at Jinzhong Women's Forced Labor Camp in the Yuci District.
18. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information Regarding Mr. Li Guogang's Arrest
Mr. Li Guogang was arrested on his way home on August 17, 2010. Officers from the Youwei Township Police Station in Linghai City took him to the Linghai City Detention Center. Three policemen including Tian Shuang ransacked Mr. Li's home. Mr. Li's mother is unable to look after herself and his daughter is seven months pregnant. They went to the police station several times. Director Liu Xudong said, "He was sent to the Linghai City Police Department. You should go there," When they got to the Linghai City Police Department, they were told, "He was arrested by the Youwei Township Police Station. We are not in charge of it."

19. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xinjing and Ms. Xu Xiulan Sent to Xingtai Brainwashing Center
Mr. Zhang Xinjing from Houyu Village, and Ms. Xu Xiulan from Dongfeng Village were arrested around July 28. They are being held at the Xingtai Brainwashing Center.

20. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Additional Information Regarding Pingdu City 610 Office's Attempt to Arrest Ms. Zhan Zhongxiang
About 15 people from the Pingdu City 610 Office, police department, and neighborhood committee attempted to arrest Ms. Zhan Zhongxiang and ransack her home at around 11:40 a.m. on August 10. Ms. Zhan discovered it early and she was able to escape as they gave chase.
At lunch time the next day, Wang Xinru from the Pingdu City 610 Office, along with two others, went to Ms. Zhan's husband's workplace and forced him to open the door. They didn't let him make phone calls or have lunch, and threatened him for two and a half hours.
21. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Qi Severely Beaten in Tailai Prison
Mr. Li Qi, who is being held at the No. 5 District in Tailai Prison, was beaten severely recently. He was forced to work for more than 15 hours a day.
22. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Guilan Arrested
Claiming to be checking residence cards, the police went into Ms. Zhang Guilan's home around August 18 and arrested her.
Ms. Zhang, about 60, retired from the Lanzhou City Seismological Bureau, has been arrested more than three times. She was once being held in the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center for about ten months in 2008 for handing out leaflets about Falun Gong.
23. [Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province] About Nine Practitioners Arrested in July
About nine Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by agents from the 610 Office and police department in July. They are now being held at the detention center. They include Ms. Cui Ling, Ms. Liu Yan, Ms. Li Ming, Ms. Li Xizhu, Ms. Chen Xiangzhen, Ms. Wang Lanfeng, Ms. Jiang Yuhua, Ms. Wan Qiong, and Ms. Chang Ping.

24. [Zhijiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Youyi Arrested
Mr. Wang Youyi, who is from Zhijiang City, was arrested and his home ransacked for handing out leaflets about Falun Gong.
25. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Lawyer Mr. Zhu Yubiao Arrrested
Lawyer Mr. ZhuYubiao was arrested and his home was ransacked. The authorities confiscated a computer. Mr. Zhu was taken to the Haizhu District Detention Center that evening.
After getting a master's degree from Zhongshan University, he represented and pleaded not-guilty for three Falun Gong practitioners in 2005. He was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp on February 10, 2007. He was released on April 30, 2008. He had been continually harassed by the police ever since. His certificate to practice law has been withheld.
