(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 15 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 40 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Qian'an City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yuling, in Her Seventies, Arrested
Five officers, including Pu Yonglai, from the Qian'an City Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Yang Yuling's home and arrested her at around 10:00 a.m. on July 14, 2010. They ransacked her home and confiscated two notebook computers.
Ms. Yang's son, Mr. Li Yankui, and her daughter-in-law, Ms. Zhao Minghua, were arrested in October 2007. The couple have been held at the Qian'an City Detention Center, and have had four court hearings at the Qian'an City Court regarding their cases. Ms. Yang believes that there is nothing wrong with her son and daughter-in-law practicing Falun Dafa, and went to the court several times to demand their release. Ms. Yang has now been arrested.
2. [Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Jinyu Dies Due to Constant Harassment
In June 2005, Ms. Jin Jinyu a practitioner of Korean ethnicity, was taken to and held in a detention center for 15 days by officers from Yanbian City. When she was released she remained under surveillance, and received numerous threatening phone calls. She lived under constant fear. Due to the pressure and stress she developed a severe illness and passed away on May 25, 2010.
3. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Chuncheng Contracted Psoriasis in Hulan Prison
Ms. Ma Chuncheng is being held at the Hulan Prison. She refused to write a guarantee statement stating that she would stop practicing Falun Gong. As a result, she was taken to the Intensive Training Team and has been held there for over nine months. Practitioners that are detained in the Intensive Training Team are made to do forced labor for about 12 hours a day. Ms. Ma has now contracted psoriasis over her entire body.

4. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Fuzhen Held in Detention Center
Ms. Liu Fuzhen from Jiaozuo City was arrested on December 14, 2009. She has been held at a detention center for over seven months.
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Recent Information on Ms. Tang Hongyan and Ms. Zhang Shuying
Ms. Tang Hongyan, from Fushun City, was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on July 8, 2010, to serve a two-year term of forced labor.
Ms. Zhang Shuying is being held at the Fushun City No. 2 Detention Center. She is on a hunger strike to protest her persecution.
6. [Jilin Province] Seventeen Practitioners from Yushu City Taken to Brainwashing Center
During the morning of July 11, 2010, a large number of officers from the Yushu City 610 Office, the city's police departments and domestic security divisions worked together to harass and arrest practitioners. The following practitioners were taken to the Xiuseshanzhuang Brainwashing Center:

Mr. Zhang Jun and his wife, Ms. Zhu Liru, refused to cooperate with the officials and were taken to a detention center. Ms. Xu Xiuhui was released on the same day that she was arrested.

8. [Huolinguole City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Meng Hulun Arrested
At around 10:00 a.m. on July 14, 2010, Li Buhe, head of the Huolinguole City Domestic Security Division, led three other police officers to Ms. Meng Hulun's home. They arrested her and took her directly to the Huolinguole City Detention Center.

9. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dai Yuzhi Arrested
Ms. Dai Yuzhi, in her sixties, was arrested by the police while telling people the facts about Falun Gong on July 14, 2010. The police extorted 750 yuan in cash from her. Ms. Dai, a retired employee of the Fengcheng City Silk Factory, is being held at the Baifangzi Detention Center in Dandong City, Liaoning Province.
10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Jianxin Arrested
Mr. Gao Jianxin was arrested at work on June 30, 2010. At around 6:00 p.m. the police searched his home in Fengrun District, Tangshan City and confiscated a notebook computer, a DVD burner, a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and other personal belongings. Mr. Gao was taken to the Fengrun District Police Department, and then to the Fengrun District Detention Center at around 9:30 p.m. that night. He has been detained there ever since.

11. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qin Mofeng Arrested
Ms. Qin Mofeng from Shawoxinzi Village, Fengnan District, Tangshan City, was reported to the police while she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Langaozhuang area of the Fengnan District on July 7, 2010. She was arrested and taken to the Xugezhuang Police Station. At around 7:00 p.m. that evening, the police searched her home. She was then taken to the Fengnan District Detention Center.

12. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Zicheng Appeals His Sentence
Mr. Wang Zicheng was sentenced to three and a half years in prison at the Pinggu District Court in Beijing on July 14, 2010. Mr. Wang has appealed against his sentence.

13. [Xixia City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liang Yujun's Entire Family Forced to Leave Town
At around 9:00 a.m. on July 14, 2010, Chen Fei led other officers from the local police station to Mr. Liang Yujun's home in Zhaogezhuang Village, Sujiadian Town, Xixia City. The officers confiscated a notebook and desktop computer. At around 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, Chen Fei again led plainclothes police officers back to Mr. Liang's home. Mr. Liang and the rest of his family have been forced to leave town to avoid further persecution. They have nowhere to stay.

14. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yunhui Arrested
Niu Hui and other officers from the Yuke Township Police Station in Shenzhou City arrested Ms. Zhang Yunhui, who just returned home from farming in their fields on July 14, 2010.
15. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yang Haihong Arrested
Ms. Yang Haihong was arrested in Huaian City in early July, 2010.
16. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Duan Minggang Arrested
Mr. Duan Minggang was arrested in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, by officers from the local police station and the 610 Office in early July 2010. Officials from the Weibin District 610 Office in Baoji City went to collect Mr. Duan and took him back to Baoji City. It is not clear where Mr. Duan is being held now.
Mr. Duan is the son of Mr. Duan Baojun, also a practitioner. In 2004, both father and son were forced to leave home to avoid arrest. Mr. Duan Baojun was arrested at a truth clarification production site in Baoji City by officers from the Baoji City 610 Office and Jintai District 610 Office in April 2008. He was sentenced to eight years in prison by officials from the Jintai District Court in August 2008, and is currently being held at the Weinan Prison in Shaanxi Province.
Mr. Duan Minggang went to find work in various places, and arrived in Shenzhen City this year. When he called his mother at home on her cellular phone, it was being monitored by the police. Mr. Duan was subsequently arrested by police officers from Shenzhen City.
17. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Fengtian, Ms. Feng Mei and Ms. Zhao Honger Arrested
Ms. Sun Fengtian, Ms. Feng Mei and Ms. Zhao Honger from Zhaizi Village in Dule Township, Yi County, were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County Police Department and the Dule Township Police Station in the morning of July 13, 2010. The three practitioners' whereabouts are currently unknown.

18. [Suqian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Yuchi Arrested
Ms. Zhu Yuchi was arrested in early July. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.
19. [Duyun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Jiang Hui Arrested
Ms. Jiang Hui from Duyun City was arrested by officers from the Fenghe Police Station, while clarifying the truth to people in the countryside, on July 6, 2010. Her home was then ransacked and they confiscated her husband's computer, who is not a practitioner. Ms. Jiang is being held at the Duyun City Detention Center.
20. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ren Xinghui Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Ren Xinghui, in her fifties, was taken to the Yangrenwan Brainwashing Center in the Xishan area of Nanchong City on July 10, 2010.
21. [Jichun County, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Hehua Taken to Detention Center
Yu Changhai and other officers from the Zoumaling Police Station in Jichun County arrived at Ms. Jiang Hehua's home at around 11:00 a.m. on July 13, 2010. They tricked her into going with them to the police station. Around 5:00 p.m. the police told her family to bring some of her clothes to the detention center. Ms. Jiang has not returned home.
Ms. Jiang, 59, is a retired teacher from the Zoumaling Elementary School. She has been harassed by the police on several occasions, and has previously been arrested and taken to various brainwashing centers.
Zhang Xianyou, deputy head of the Jichun County Domestic Security Division, led five other officers to her home and confiscated a computer in early May 2010. Zhang and three other police officers showed up at her home again in early June and warned her not to leave home.
22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Arrested
Ms. Hu and another elderly lady from the Dongxihu area in Wuhan City were reported to the police while distributing truth clarification materials at around 8:30 a.m. on July 13, 2010. They were taken to the Jinghe Detention Center. The other elderly lady was later released, but Ms. Hu was transferred to the Dongxihu Police Department at around 6:00 p.m. that evening. On the morning of July 14, she was taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.

23. [Chengdu City] Ms. Luo Yuying and Several Other Practitioners Face Trial
The following practitioners are facing a court trial in Chengdu City:

Mr. Zhang Huayun is facing trial in the Qingyang District on July 20,

24. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yu Jingfei and Ms. Yu Junfei Arrested
Ms. Yu Jingfei and her sister, Ms. Yu Junfei, were arrested on June 6, 2010.
25. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Yan Harassed by the Yanqing County 610 Office
Officials from the Yanqing County 610 Office have harassed Ms. Zhang Yan on numerous occasions. Officials, led by Gu Xiangjun of the Hunan Residential Community in Yanqing Town, kept harassing her, and even threatened Ms. Zhang's child. The officials have also tried to take Ms. Zhang to a brainwashing center

26. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Caixia Arrested
Ms. Geng Caixia from Guye District, Tangshan City, was reported to the police when she went to the Xiaomazhuang area to tell people the facts about Falun Gong on the morning of July 7, 2010. She was arrested by officers from the Xiaomazhuang Police Station. At around 7:00 p.m. that evening, officers from the Luan County Police Department and the Domestic Security Division broke into her home. They searched the place while none of her family was at home and confiscated a computer, DVD burner, Falun Dafa books, a driver's license belonging to Ms. Geng's husband, and a school diploma belonging to their child.

27. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Mr. Han Guangshan Arrested
Mr. Han Guangshan from Daijiapu Village in Sanshuitou Town, Yutian County, was forcibly taken to the Yutian County Detention Center by a dozen officers from the Yutian County Domestic Security Division and the Sanshuitou Police Station at around noon on July 13, 2010. The police also confiscated a computer and many Falun Dafa books.
