610 Office in Changzhou City, Hebei Province, Arrests 48 Practitioners (Photos)

Sept. 29, 2010 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) The Hebei Province 610 Office and the Changzhou City 610 Office organized police from different cities to act together on the night of August 25, to arrest and harass Falun Gong practitioners. According to incomplete statistics, so far 48 practitioners have been illegally arrested and more than 20 other practitioners have been harassed.

CCP (Chinese Communist Party) personnel arrested 12 practitioners and harassed 7 others in Changzhou City. They arrested three practitioners in Chang County, five in Qing County, and four in Yanshan County. The Xian County police arrested nine practitioners (Lu Wanjie, Peng Yumin, Wang Fuqiang, Wang Xuejian, Wen Zhao, Li Heping, Gao Wenmi, Wang Yongjian, and another practitioner whose name is unknown.) They also arrested two practitioners in Dongguang County and arrested one practitioner and harassed two other practitioners in Huangye County, as well as one practitioner in Mengcun County and five in Botou City (Mr. and Mrs. Gao Zhiying, Sun Chaoying, Qiu Zhenmei, and Wang Fenghai). In Suning County, they arrested three practitioners and harassed 10 others. They arrested two practitioners in Nanpi County and four in Renqiu County. In Hejian City, they harassed one practitioner and harassed other practitioners in Wuqiao County.

At around 5:00 p.m. on August 25, Huo Zhigang (deputy director of the Xinhua Branch of the Changzhou City Police Department) and Zhang Yingjie (leader of the Domestic Security Division) directed more than 10 police officers to knock on the door of practitioner Huang Xianmin's home with the excuse of checking residential registrations. Huang refused to open the door, so they tried to break it down and did not leave until midnight. At around 5:00 a.m. on August 26, they came back again and continued to try to break down the door but were unsuccessful. In the morning they brought over two fire trucks and tried to use the ladder on the fire engine to get into the house.

Because they spent so much time with these maneuvers, the neighbors and relatives of Huang were annoyed and questioned the policemen about their actions. The police did not know how to answer and ended up saying, "We will go back and study this further." They promptly left after that.

Wang Zhenfeng, Li Zhenjiang, Yang Jingyi, and others from the Qing County Police Department and the 610 Office arrested practitioners Ma Qingling, Yao Wei, Zhang Tieshan, Li Xueming, and Bai Suqin. They ransacked the home of Ma Qingling and almost emptied the house. They stole nearly 10,000 yuan worth of belongings, including keys and wallets. Another group of police officers, together with the Mendian Township Police Station, went to the home of Bai Suqing in Zhangyanglou Village. With the same excuse of checking residential registrations, they stole the valuables in her home. Director Yang from the Mendian Township Police Station took more than 350 yuan in cash from a wallet found in the home. He also threatened her, saying, "Give me your bank savings certificate, so that I can keep it for you. If the county 610 Office were to come here, they won't be so polite as me." Later on people found that the police had slashed the tires of Bai's motorcycle and bicycle. They also stole the key to the motorcycle.

Liu Haijun and others from the Mengcun County Police Department, together with more than 10 CCP personnel from the Songzhuang Township Police Station in Mengchun County, came in three police cars to the home of practitioner Ms. Tang Yu'e in Wangzhai Village, Songzhuang Township. They first tried to break down the door, then scaled the courtyard wall to force their way in. They ransacked the home and took away a cell phone, a charger, an MP3 player, and a cell phone card. They dragged Ms. Tang to the police car and took her to the Mengcun County Police Department. They took turns interrogating her late at night.

At around 9:00 p.m. on August 25, the Botou City Police also dispatched five police cars and more than 20 officers from the Hedong Police Station and the Domestic Security Division. They arrested practitioner Ms. Gao Zhiying and her husband, who does not practice Falun Gong. Also, together with Feng Shuguo, who is the director of the Wenmiao Township Police Station, they arrested practitioners Zhao Shuxiang, Qiu Zhenmei, Wang Fenghai, and others from Guogangzi Village in Wenmiao Township. These practitioners are currently being detained in the Duanzhuang Detention Center.
