Hengyang Policeman Xiao Caiqing Died of Lung Cancer

Oct. 16, 2011 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent in Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Xiao Caiqing was around 63 years old. He was the leader at Hengyang National Security Division, section head at Political and Security Section in Jiangdong District (now named Zhuhui District), and director at Yuehan Police Station from 1999 to 2003. He retired in 2003. He had actively participated in the persecution of local Falun Gong practitioners. Recently, he developed lung cancer and he died in July 2011.

During his tenure, he ransacked Falun Gong practitioners’ homes, arrested, threatened, and extorted money from them without restraint. There were dozens to hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners sentenced and imprisoned under his direction. Among the practitioners who were detained, there were some who died as a result of torture. Many more practitioners in his district suffered other forms of persecution such as being fired from their jobs, harassed, and their spouses being forced to divorce them.

Xiao Caiqing committed severe crimes against Falun Gong practitioners. After he fell ill, Falun Gong practitioners clarified the truth to him and attempted to persuade him to repent of his crimes and turn toward goodness. Xiao refused to listen.

It is a well known principle that goodness is rewarded and evil is punished. We hope that those who have participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners will learn a lesson from Xiao Caiqing, and choose the right path to ensure a good future.
