(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Wei was arrested by police on September 17, 2011, and sentenced to prison within 20 days by Ji'an City judicial departments. She is currently detained at the Changchun Women's Prison.

At around midnight on July 24, 2009, Ms. Liu was arrested the first time for talking to some people in Ji'an to raise their awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution. The Toudaogou Police arrested her and sent her to the Ji'an Detention Center, where Ms. Liu was tortured to the point that she contracted a serious blood disease. She was later released due to her illness.

Ms. Liu was arrested at home at around 7:00 a.m., August 17, 2011, by officers from the Ji'an Domestic Security Division, led by director Yao Xinmeng. To protest her illegal arrest, she went on a hunger strike at the Ji'an Detention Center. On September 7, the Ji'an City Court set the date for an illegal trial. Ms. Liu Wei was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. She has been detained at the Changchun Women's Prison since September 23.

Ms. Liu's husband has been deeply troubled by his wife's illegal arrest and the involvement of the legal departments who perpetrate the systematic persecution of innocent people. Following his wife's arrest, on August 28, he had a heart attack and was rushed to the Central Hospital of Tonghua City. Three stents were placed in his heart, and the surgery cost almost 100,000 yuan. Ms. Liu's husband and young daughter miss her and are in great need of her care.
