Dec. 6, 2011 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent in Heilongjiang province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Qin Yueming, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Jinshantun District, Yichun City in Heilongjiang Province, died on February 26, 2011, as a result of persecution in Jiamusi Prison. Mr. Qin’s family has since been appealing and asking the government to punish the perpetrators, and to be compensated. However, instead of taking action on their claim, officials from Harbin arrested Mr. Qin’s wife, Ms. Wang Xiuqing, and his daughter, Qin Hailong, on November 13, 2011.

Mr. Qin's eldest daughter, Ms. Qin Rongqian, received a call from the detention center in Shuangcheng on November 15, 2011. The caller told her that her mother was being held at the detention center and that she needed warm clothes and money for meals. When Rongqian asked about her sister's whereabouts she was told that her sister was not at the detention center. So far, there is still no information about what has happened to Ms. Qin Hailong.

Mr. Qin's family sued the officials who participated in persecuting him to death and asked the Hejiang Regional Procuratorate of Jamusi City to investigate. The officials named in the case are Yu Yifeng, Shen Qingxin, Xu Liang, Du Yan, Liu Miaosen, and some others. They were accused of dereliction of duty, maltreatment of an inmate, and deliberately killing Mr. Qin.
