Chinese Audience Members in New Zealand Praise Shen Yun Performance

Feb. 9, 2011 |   By Jing Ruyu, Clearwisdom correspondent

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 3, 2011, Shen Yun Performing Arts took the stage at the ASB Theater in Auckland, New Zealand. Many Chinese audience members watched the show and offered high praise to Shen Yun for presenting traditional Chinese culture to the world.

Mr. Fan watched the show for the first time and said watching Shen Yun brings one to a very graceful realm and helps one forget all one's troubles in daily life.

Like many other Chinese people, Mr. Fan reads the Epoch Times every week. That was where he learned about the Shen Yun show.

Regarding the Chinese consulate's effort to deter people from seeing Shen Yun by sending letters to potential audience members, Mr. Fan said, “Now we have nothing to do (with the Chinese government). It is nice to be free, to say what you want to say, and do what you want to do. Otherwise, people are not sincere. ”

A Chinese Artist Watched the Whole Show with Tears in Her Eyes

Many artists attended the Shen Yun show, and some of them were Chinese. Serena, a musician, had tears in her eyes throughout the entire show.

Serena’s specialty is the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese music instrument. She used to be a professional performer in China. After the show, she expressed admiration for Shen Yun from an artist’s perspective, “This show is really great. I was so moved from beginning to end!” She also said that every program was “very fascinating. They are really splendid! And all the dance performances were really great.”

It was Serena’s second time to see Shen Yun. She said, “From the beginning of the show, I had tears in my eyes. I was so touched. I hope more people will come to see it. This show is so great!”

Regarding the Chinese consulate's interference with the show, Serena said, “It is so despicable! They don’t have the right to stop others. Watching Shen Yun is a personal choice. And it is personal freedom. They cannot deprive us of our rights. They fabricate lies to deter people from seeing Shen Yun.” Serena thought that the Chinese consulate “had used all kinds of tactics to try to prevent more people from learning the truth. ”

As a Chinese, Serena was very proud of this show. She also mentioned that a few Westerners who sat in front of her were touched and stood up to applaud. She said emotionally, “Watching Shen Yun is pure enjoyment. And it helps people to learn something about China's five-thousand-year-old culture.”

New Chinese Immigrant: Shen Yun Is Unique

Mr. Chen (an alias), who just immigrated from China four months ago, came to the Shen Yun show with his family. Mr. Chen said again and again to the correspondent that all the programs were fabulous!

Mr. Chen was a senior doctor of Chinese traditional medicine in China. He said, “The whole performance is great. This is genuine Chinese culture. I have never seen such a great show before.”

He continued, “From the music to the dancers, Shen Yun is the best show in the world. It is truly amazing! I have never heard anything as beautiful as this music today. This is not available in China anymore. Shen Yun presents the essence of the five thousand years of Chinese culture!”

Mr. Chen told the correspondent that every time the curtain opened, he was touched from the bottom of his heart. Genuine Chinese culture cannot be seen in China, but has been preserved and spread abroad. He said, “I appreciate Shen Yun Performing Arts for retaining the pure essence of our culture and sharing it with the whole world.”
