(Clearwisdom.net) As of late January 2011, 138 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally detained in the Third Division of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. During the first 20 days that practitioners were imprisoned, guards directed collaborators to manipulate these practitioners into giving up their belief in Falun Gong. Practitioners who refused to be “transformed” by the end of the twenty days were subjected to a torture method called “stretching.”
Torture: Stretching (demonstration)
Some practitioners were forced to give up Falun Gong because of the severity of the torture. To solidify the coerced “transformations,” the guards use brainwashing techniques. They ordered these practitioners to take written exams, sing songs praising the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and recite the 30 "Regulations of Education through Forced Labor." Practitioners who did not meet the guards' requirements were again severely tortured.
On October 11, 2010, guard Huang Haiyan took practitioner Ms. Liang Yu from Dalian to the “luggage storage room” at Donggang (a place of torture inside the labor camp). Ms. Liang was handcuffed to a metal bed and was kicked and shocked on the face with electric batons. During the following four days, Ms. Liang was either forced to stand straight for long periods or tied to a bed with her limbs stretched widely.
On the first day of the torture, Ms. Liang was not allowed to use the restroom for 12 hours. She then went on a hunger strike for five days. On the fourth day, the persecutors tied her to the bed to force-feed her. They pried her her mouth wide open with a metal instrument, held her nose, and then force-fed her. On October 18, Ms. Liang was transferred to the Second Division and forced to do hard labor with the other prisoners. Practitioner Ms. Du Yuhong from Shenyang was also tortured with the stretching method many times. Each round of torture lasted six to seven days. Ms. Wan Xiaohui from Dalian was tortured, resulting in extremely high blood pressure. The guards rained blows on her head, using a small hammer at times. The guards also threatened practitioner Ms. Liu Ronghua from Dalian, and after the Chinese New Year holiday, they transferred her to Donggang, which is a section of the camp known for severe torture.
The guards who participated in torture included Zhang Zhuohui, Zhang Jun, Zhang Huan, Zhang Lei, and Zhang Xiurong.
