Getting righteous energy from the art exhibition

Kim HyunWook, Deputy Head of Ulleung County

After the ribbon cutting, the guests viewed the paintings in the exhibition. They were shocked at the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Kim HyunWook, Deputy Head of Ulleung County, said, “I did not know about Falun Gong before. After seeing the paintings, I learned that practitioners overcome the brutal persecution with amazing perseverance and walk a divine path leading to a divine realm. I am going to introduce this exhibition to friends who are experiencing difficulties, because of the righteous energy [the paintings emanate].”

Speaker Kim of the Ulleung County Council said, “After seeing these art works, I don’t understand why the CCP is still on this earth. Seeing the CCP’s brutal persecution, I feel sorrow. It is unacceptable that the CCP harvests vital organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. It is a deplorable act.”

Police Chief Lee

Police Chief Lee said, after viewing the paintings, that if a good practice like Falun Gong were persecuted similarly in South Korea, the people would have held an uprising.

Branch Head Yo of Agricultural Bank Ulleung Branch said he knew a little about Falun Gong. After seeing the paintings and listening to the guide's explanation, he said, “It is hard to believe that such a persecution is happening in real life. It is terrible. I don’t think such things should happen. I’ll tell my colleagues about this and ask them to view the paintings and learn the facts.”

Kim, Director of the Ulleung Fishery Association

Kim, Director of the Ulleung Fishery Association, said, “After listening to the music Pudu here, I learned that what I practiced before was Falun Gong. A Chinese person came to Ulleung and taught me the practice. I went to a mountain to practice by myself every day, but I did not keep it up. Now I want to resume the practice. I feel strong energy today, especially from the painting Pure Lotus.”

Mr. Kwon Hong-Dae, Chairman of the Falun Dafa Association of South Korea

Mr. Kwon Hong-Dae, Chairman of the Falun Dafa Association of South Korea, gave a speech at the opening ceremony. He said, “The artists of these paintings are Falun Gong practitioners, including Professor Kunlun Zhang. He experienced the persecution himself. Through the art exhibition, we call on people to help these practitioners and stop the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong. We hope that more people come to view the paintings.”

Ms. Li from China is married to a South Korean man and works at the Ulleung museum. She came to view the paintings on the opening day. She said, “It is hard to believe that such brutal persecution is occurring in China. I’ll pay attention to the issue and learn more about it.”

The International Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition has been held in South Korea since September 2004. The exhibition in Ulleungdo marks the 115th exhibition in South Korea.

The paintings in the one-week exhibition comprise four themes: harmony, suffering, courage and justice. They celebrate the hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who safeguard Truth-Compassion-Forbearance (the principles of Falun Gong) in the face of hatred, beatings and even death.

The exhibition will conclude on April 17.
