(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhao Haiying, 58, a retiree from the Kunming City Rubber Plant, recently sued Xishan District Domestic Security Division head Qiu Xueyan in Kunming City for illegally arresting her husband, Mr. Cheng Hongchou, and ransacking her home. Mr. Cheng, 61, is being held at the Xishan District Detention Center. He is physically weak and has edema in his legs.
Ms. Zhao describes the events:
Qiu and three other police agents set off to arrest a female government officer at noon on June 2, 2011. Because the officer had the same name as me, the agents mistakenly came to my apartment and ransacked it. My husband is a retiree from the Liangting Steel Rolling Mill in Kunming City. When they saw that he was reading Internet news on our computer, the agents arrested him. They also confiscated our computer as well as some personal belongings. When I returned home after grocery shopping, they took both me and my husband to the police station.
After I was interrogated, one police officer said to me, “We did not intend to arrest you. It was a mistake and you can go home now.” Then they took my husband to the Xishan District Detention Center and kept him there. On the detention notice, the reason given for my husband’s arrest was “Interfering with law enforcement.”
Qiu is an officer who is supposed to uphold the law, but he made a mistake and barged into my home. To compound the matter, he ransacked my home and belongings, and confiscated my computer and other personal items. He also interrogated me and threatened me saying, “If you tell anyone what happened today, I will come and arrest you!”
However, Qiu did not apologize to my family. Instead, he arrested my husband just because he was browsing the Internet. While being held at Xishan District Detention Center, my husband has suffered a lot both physically and mentally. As a result, he is now very weak and his legs have edema.
