(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 36 cities or counties in 17 provinces. As per this report, 22 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 32 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shi Mengxiao Tortured at the Jinhua Brainwashing Center; Now Has Difficulty Speaking

2. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Jingjie Subjected to Forced Injection of Toxic Drug; Unable to Walk

Ms. Sun Jingjie is an employee from the Fuyu County Commerce and Industry Bureau. Fuyu County 610 Office agent Han Yongzhan and others illegally arrested her and took her to the Qiqihar City Brainwashing Center on July 4, 2011. Ms. Sun began a hunger strike two days later. The authorities force-fed her and injected her with an unknown substance when she lost consciousness. The injection made her unable to walk. Ms. Sun was sent to the Police Hospital and the Qiqihar City No. 1 Hospital for treatment, but doctors said they couldn't cure her. The brainwashing center officials informed her parents to take her home. Ms. Sun still can't walk or take care of herself.

3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Yuxiang Taken to Heizuizi Prison in Changchun City

Shulan City Court officials covertly tried Ms. Gao Yuxiang on October 12, 2010 and sentenced her to ten years in prison. She was taken to the Heizuizi Prison in Changchun City on July 5, 2011.

4. [Chongqing] Seventy-Three-Year-Old Mr. Gu Jiu Arrested

Mr. Gu Jiu returned home at around noon on August 8, 2011. Officers from the Shapingba Police Station who were staked out near his home arrested him and took him to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center. His lower back was injured during the arrest and now he has difficulty moving around.

5. [Boluo County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yan Ping Holds a Hunger Strike Protesting His Treatment at the Boluo County Detention Center

Mr. Yan Ping, who teaches at the Boluo County No. 6 Elementary School, was arrested and held in the Boluo County No. 2 Detention Center. He has been on a hunger strike for a few days. He is now in critical condition.

6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. You Bo and Ms. Hu Zhenru Arrested

Ms. You Bo, a resident in Liuhe District, was arrested at work on the morning of July 29, 2011 at the hands of officers from the Nanjing City Police Department. Ms. You's practitioner mother Ms. Hu Zhenru went to Ms. You's workplace around August 10 to seek help secure her daughter's release. The security office staff reported her to the police and arrested her.

7. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Disabled Practitioner Ms. Wang Yulian Has Been Held in Custody for Ten Months

8. [Qin'an County, Gansu Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Longcheng Township Police Station officers broke into a male practitioner's home in Zhanggou Village around August 10, 2011, confiscated his personal belongings including a tape recorder, and arrested him, taking him to the Qin'an County Detention Center.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Run's wife, in her 50s, from Zhangjiachuan County, was also arrested. Mr. Zhang was previously arrested and sentenced to four years of imprisonment in August 2008 at Gansu Province No. 1 Prison. He is almost blind as a result of the abuse he received while in prison.

Ms. Li Zhonglan was arrested in early August 2011 and is currently held at the Wangxiangtai Brainwashing Center in Lushan Village, Yubei District.

13. [Jingchuan, Gansu Province] Ms. Pan Xiuying and Others Arrested and Fined

Ms. Pan Xiuying, Ms. Liu Fengchai and Ms. Liu Juanying were arrested on August 4, 2011 at the hands of officer Fan Jianhui and others from the Taiping Police Station. The three practitioners were each extorted 3,000 yuan before they were released around 9:00 p.m. that same day.

14. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Yuexia and Ms. Zhang Keying Incarcerated at a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wu Yuexia and Ms. Zhang Keying from Shuangyashan City were arrested on July 30, 2011 in Bijiashan as they distributed information about Falun Gong. Officers from the Bijiashan Police Station sent them to be held in the Jixian County Detention Center for two weeks.

Shuangyashan Mining Bureau 610 Office agents sent Ms. Zhang to the Wuchang Brainwashing Center on the evening of August 7. Shuangyashan City 610 Office agents sent Ms. Wu to the same brainwashing center the afternoon of August 12.

15. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhige Subjected to Forced Labor

Mr. Wang Zhige was given an 18-month forced labor term on August 12.

16. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Zihe and Ms. Qin Hongqin Arrested

About 20 officers from the Yinan County 610 Office, the Puwang Town government and Police Station broke into Mr. Zhao Zihe's home in Dougou Village on the morning of August 9, 2011. They confiscated all of his Falun Gong books and informational materials, and took Mr. Zhao to the Linyi Brainwashing Center.

This same group of officers broke into Ms. Qin Hongqin's home in Dougou Village on the morning of August 12, 2011 and ransacked it. They proceeded to arrest Ms. Qin at work.

Ms. Ma Yanfang was arrested at home on the afternoon of August 1, 2011 and taken to the Shuangyang No. 3 Detention Center.

18. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Qingxia Arrested

Ms. Wu Qingxia from Lizhuang Village, Xinji Town was arrested at work on August 3, 2011. More than 30 police officers participated. Ms. Wu is currently held in the Langfang Brainwashing Center.
19. [Fengcheng, Liaoning Province] Update on the Persecution of Ms. Chen Shang

Ms. Chen Shang from Baoshan Town was arrested on August 21, 2008 in Anshan City, because she broadcast facts about Falun Gong via tapping into TV signals. She was subsequently sentenced to ten years in prison, and sent to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison in February 2009. She has been placed in solitary confinement and is often beaten. Her family has been forbidden to visit her.

20. [Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Yanwei Arrested

Ms. Chen Yanwei from the Xi'an District was arrested on August 9, 2011 as she distributed information about Falun Gong. She is currently in the Mudanjiang Detention Center.

21. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xu Daoming and Ms. Xu Yixiang Held in a Detention Center

Mr. Xu Daoming, Ms. Wu Peijuan and Ms. Xu Yixiang were arrested on the morning of August 11, 2011. Ms. Wu was taken to the Shantou City Brainwashing Center that same evening. Mr. Xu and Ms. Xu were taken to the Tuopu Detention Center the evening of August 12.

Mr. Chen Shaoliang was arrested and taken to the Shantou City Brainwashing Center on August 12.

22. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Xiuju Arrested

Ms. Sun Xiuju from Tengzhang Town had her home burglarized on August 13, 2011 by Tengzhuang Town Police Station officers broke. The police confiscated truth-clarification materials, DVDs, and cash, and took Ms. Sun to the police station. They claimed that the cash they confiscated had Falun Gong messages written on it. When Ms. Sun's family went to the station to demand her release, they were told that she had been transferred to the county's detention center.

23. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xing Xiaoyan Held in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Xing Xiaoyang, an employee from the Pipeline Bureau, was arrested on the evening of August 12, 2011. She was sent to the Langfang Brainwashing Center the next day, August 13.

24. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Ren Sulan Living Away from Home to Avoid Persecution

More than 20 officers from the Xi'an City 610 Office and the Qingnian Road Police Station came to Ms. Ren Sulan's home on August 20, 2011 in an attempt to arrest her. Ms. Ren's family stopped them. Later on, the family compound where Ms. Ren lives was under 24-hour surveillance. Ms. Ren was able to leave home on the tenth day and has lived away from home since, to avoid persecution.

25. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Bai Yong's Uncle Zhang Yutang Beaten and Arrested

Mr. Bai Yong was recently arrested and sent to a local brainwashing facility. The family went to the facility on the morning of August 12, 2011 to demand his release. A group of security guards beat Mr. Bai's uncle Mr. Zhang Yutang and took him to the No. 2 Police Station. The police then ransacked his home at around 2:00 p.m. and sent him to local detention center that same evening.

26. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liang Suxiang Arrested

Ms. Liang Suxiang lives in Liangjiayaoshui Village, Luocheng Town. She returned home from working at a vegetable greenhouse on the morning of August 4, 2011 when about eight police officers broke into and ransacked her home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, DVDs and other personal belongings. Then they arrested Ms. Liang and took her to the Shouguang City Detention Center.

Changjia Police Station agents arrested Ms. Zhang Junxian, a practitioner in Renjia Village, Changjia Town on August 11, 2011. She was later sent to the Dezhou City Brainwashing Center.

Local police arrested Mr. Tian Houzhen, an employee from the Security Office of the Shanjialin Mine in Zaozhuang City, while he was at the Taozhuang Town Shopping Center. He is currently in the Xuecheng District Police Department Detention Center.

32. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Fujiang on a Hunger Strike at Brainwashing Center

Several Shagou Town practitioners were arrested on August 4, including Mr. Li Fujiang, Ms. Wang Xinhua, and Ms. Ma Qingzhen. Ms. Wang and Ms. Ma are in the Linyi Detention Center. Mr. Li is in the Linyi Brainwashing Center and is currently on a hunger strike to protest her treatment.

Yongqing County Domestic Security Division head Yu Lianxing and 610 Office head Shi Huanjin ordered Zhang Haipeng and six other agents from the Domestic Security Division to go to the home of Ms. Ma Xinglan, a practitioner in Balizhuang Village, Caojiawu Town. They attempted to arrest Ms. Ma, but she escaped.

Xinji Town Armed Forces head Meng Xianquan went to a construction site in Zhangzhuang Village on the morning of August 2. They arrested Ms. Wu Qingxia who was working there and sent her to the Langfang Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Wu had been detained at numerous places in the past, including a township government compound, detention centers and brainwashing centers.

Ms. He Meiling traveled from Hong Kong to Mainland China on August 3, 2011. Police agents arrested her at the Shenzhen Customs and sent her to the Sanshui Women’s Labor Camp.

38. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lu Youxiu Arrested and Sent to Pi County Brainwashing Center

Jiang Dongtao, Simaqiao Police Station agent, led six police agents to the home of 61-year-old practitioner Ms. Lu Xiuyou the evening of August 12, 2011. They took away her Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Lu was arrested and sent to the Pi County Brainwashing Center.

39. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Qin Arrested

Ms. Wang Qin, a 39-year-old practitioner from Huanggang City in Hubei Province, works in Shenzhen City. Police officials arrested her on May 24, 2011 and held her at the Longgang Detention Center in Shenzhen City for more than two months. Police officers prohibited her from meeting with visitors.

Yutan Town Police Station officials carried out the arrests on the afternoon of August 11 as the practitioners were clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to people. Ms. Peng was released at midnight, and Ms. Liu was taken to a detention center.
