(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Song Guixiang suffered in the past from heart disease and had rheumatoid arthritis. However, her illnesses disappeared soon after she started practicing Falun Gong. Her husband, Mr. Li Yuzhen, 68, also saw improvements to his physical and mental well being when he started practicing.
On June 24, 2011, Ms. Song went to the Jiaozhou City Police Department to request a visit to see her daughter, Ms. Li Xue, who had been illegally sentenced to seven years in Jinan City Women's Prison, and to demand the release of her husband, who was arrested on March 23. She also wanted her ID card returned, which had been confiscated by the police. However, they refused to respond to her requests and she was pushed out of the building.
Ms. Song started to shout, “Falun Dafa is good,” in the yard of the police department. Three police officers came out and started to swear at her. One of the officers struck her, and told her that if she wanted her ID card returned, she should get into the police car. When she refused, all three of the officers beat her and then dragged her into a police car. She was taken to Sanlihe Police Station.
When three officers from the Jiaozhou 610 Office came to the police station, Ms. Song tried to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to them, and requested that they stop persecuting practitioners. At around 4:00 p.m., they took Ms. Song to the Jiaoxi Hospital and imprisoned her there on the third floor. Liu Gangcai from the 610 Office assigned a police officer and a former coworker of Ms. Song's to monitor her. Liu said, “Handcuff her tightly. Do not let her move at all.” She was handcuffed to a bed and continuously shouted at by Liu and the police officer.
On July 2, Ms. Song was taken to the school where she worked and was imprisoned in a secure room. She was monitored around the clock. Ms. Song was beaten and tortured, and lost consciousness on July 10. Officials from the school and the 610 Office were afraid that she would die there, so they told Ms. Song's daughter to take her home on July 13.
Since the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Song's home has been ransacked half a dozen times, and Mr. Li and Ms. Song's wages were stopped. In order to request the return of their salaries, Ms. Song went to Beijing to appeal during the Chinese New Year of 2011. However, she was followed and arrested by the police.
On March 23, 2011, officers from Jiaozhou 610 Office and Beiguan Police Station broke into Ms. Song's home and arrested Mr. Li, Ms. Song, Song Yongzhan, and their youngest son, Li Min. A photocopier, printer, Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials, and DVD's were confiscated. They were all taken to Beiguan Police Station. Li Min was released two days later.
Ms. Song was taken to the Jiaozhou People's Hospital for a medical examination on March 24. Her health was so poor that officials from the Dashan Detention Center refused to take her, so she was returned to Beiguan Police Station. On March 27, she was taken to Qingdao City Haici Hospital for another medical examination, which she also did not pass.
Officials from the 610 Office were adamant that Ms. Song would not be released, and so they had her imprisoned in the Adult Education Office in Jiaoxi Town. She went on a hunger strike to protest her persecution. Officials from the 610 Office then had her taken to Jiaoxi Hospital for medical treatment. Two days later, she was returned to the Adult Education Office for further persecution.
Ms. Song always clarifies the facts about Falun Gong to the officers from the 610 Office and local police station with a peaceful mind. On April 13, she managed to escape from the Adult Education Office.
