(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 17 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Ms. Yin Sufang Missing after Forced Injection

Ms. Yin Sufang, 73, from the Shapingba District of Chongqing, went missing two days after the Community Committee sent her to the hospital, where she was given a forced injection at the end of July 2011. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gu Liju Arrested

Ms. Gu Liju, about 30, was illegally arrested by officers from the Wuzhong District Police Department on August 17, 2011. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Tanghai County, Hebei Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Mr. Li Junsheng and His Family

Mr. Li Junsheng and his family were secretly arrested on August 19, 2011. Mr. Li is being held in Tanghai County. His wife, Ms. Han Fengrong, is being held in Laoting County. Their daughter has been released, but their son is still detained. The police ransacked Mr. Li's home and office and confiscated a new car valued at more than 300,000 yuan.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ma Jie Arrested

Mr. Ma Jie was arrested on August 19, 2011. No additional information is available at this time.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Zhengyun and Two of His Employees Arrested

On the morning of August 23, 2011, officers from the Zhongchang Street Police Station in Jinzhou New District went to the Huiyuan Noodle Restaurant and arrested the owner, Mr. Sun Zhengyuan, and two of his employees. All three were taken to the police station.

6. [Nanning City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Fang Meilan and Her Daughter Arrested

Ms. Fang Meilan and her daughter, Ms. Lu, were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Team and the police station on August 11, 2011. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Ms. Si Ruijing and Other Practitioners

Ms. Si Ruijing and several other practitioners were arrested on August 11, 2011. They were recently sentenced to one year of forced labor. They are now in the Weizigou Detention Center.

8. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Xiao Zunyun Arrested, Home Ransacked

Ms. Xiao Zunyun, 73, is retired from the Dongchuan District Grain Bureau. On the morning of August 8, 2011, she was arrested by Xu Yonglin and several other officers from the Domestic Security Team for distributing materials to clarify the facts about Falun Gong in a farmer's market. She was taken to the police station and interrogated until 3 p.m. The police ransacked her home and drew blood from her against her will. She was later released on bail, pending trial.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Nan Tianping and Other Practitioners Transferred to Hohhot City in Inner Mongolia

Ms. Nan Tianping and several other practitioners were transferred from Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp to Hohhot City in Inner Mongolia on August 19, 2011.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Wenjun and Two Other Practitioners Detained

Mr. Li Wenjun and two other practitioners were arrested on August 19, 2011. They are being held at the No. 2 Detention Center in Harbin.

11. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zheng Shuxia Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zheng Shuxia was arrested on July 11, 2011. On August 16, she was sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zequ Taken to Brainwashing Center

On the morning of August 23, 2011, Tangshan 610 Office agents ordered someone at Mr. Wang Zequ's workplace, the Fengrun District Wastewater Treatment Plant, to call him. The agents then took Mr. Wang to the Fengrun District Brainwashing Center.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Su Fengting and Ms. Wang Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Su Fengting and Ms. Wang Xiuzhen from Shuihuopu Village, Dawangguzhuang Town, Wuqing District, Tianjin, were arrested by officers from the Dawangguzhuang Town Police Station on the morning of August 24, 2011, for speaking with people about Falun Gong in the Lishangtun Market Fair. They are being held in the police station. The police also ransacked their homes.

14. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Fenglan Detained

Ms. Liu Fenglan and her husband, Mr. Xi Liguo, were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Domestic Security Team on March 14, 2011. Mr. Xi was released four days later because he had symptoms of high blood pressure. Ms. Liu was charged with “subversion of the government” for practicing Falun Gong and taken to a detention center that evening. After one month, she was charged with “sabotaging law enforcement” and incarcerated for another five months. She is still being held in the detention center.

15. [Daxin County, Guangxi Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Mr. Ye Yongjun and Other Practitioners

Thirteen practitioners were arrested in Daxin County for speaking with people about Falun Gong: Mr. Ye Yongjun and his wife, Ms. Yang Aihong, and son, Mr. Ye Yang; Mr. Zhu Yi from Xiaogan City, Hubei Province; two practitioners from Wuhan City, Hubei Province; Ms. Luo and her son; and five practitioners from Guangxi Province.

Mr. Ye and his wife and son were released on bail of 20,000 yuan on August 23, 2011. Mr. Zhu Yi was taken to the Banqiao Brainwashing Center in Hubei Province.

16. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhang Maifen Arrested

Ms. Zhang Maifen was recently followed and arrested for speaking with people about Falun Gong.

17. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa and Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Sent to Jinan Prison

Mr. Qin Songfa and Ms. Xu Xiuzhen were sent to Jinan Prison on August 22, 2011.

18. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yin Taken to Shahezi Brainwashing Center

Several plainclothes officers from the Chuanying District Police Sub-Bureau seized Ms. Wang Yin from her home in the Chaicaoshi Community on August 24, 2011. Ms. Wang was later taken to the Shahezi Brainwashing Center.

19. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ni Baokun and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Ni Baokun and his wife, Ms. Lu Shiping, from Chunhua Town were reported and arrested by officers from the Chunhua Town Police Station and Hunchun City Domestic Security Team for telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Daliudao Village on August 24, 2011.

20. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Ye Muhua Detained

Ms. Ye Muhua from the Taijiang District was arrested on June 18, 2011, and released after 16 days of detention. She was arrested again on August 16, 2011, and is being held in the Fuzhou No. 1 Detention Center.

21. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Yuzhen Sentenced to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor

Ms. Cao Yuzhen was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. She is being held in the First Ward of Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

22. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhao Changcai Arrested

Mr. Zhao Changcai from Hongxiang Town in the Liangzhou District was arrested by officers from the Hongxiang Town Police Station on August 23, 2011.

23. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Province] Mr. Luo Jieming and His Brother Arrested

Mr. Luo Jieming from Zhongning County was arrested around July 10, 2011. The whereabouts of Mr. Luo Jieming and his brother, Mr. Luo Shiming, are unknown. It is suspected that the brother was arrested, too.

24. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuhua Taken to Brainwashing Center

Yu Lianxing, chief of Yongqing County Domestic Security Team, led several officers to Ms. Wang Xiuhua's home on the afternoon of August 23, 2011. They took Ms. Wang to the Langfang City Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Kong Xiangfen, retired from Chongqing Oil Drilling Company, was arrested at home on August 10, 2011. She is being held at the Tieshanping Brainwashing Center.

27. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Mingfu Arrested

Mr. Yang Mingfu, 68, from Yongsheng Town in the Wenjiang District was reported for distributing flyers about Falun Gong in Jiangyuan Town, Chongzhou City, on the morning of August 24, 2011. He was arrested by officers from the Jiangyuan Town Police Station. His current whereabouts are unknown.
