(Clearwisdom.net) In the “Military Technology” program produced by CCTV-7 (China Central Television) in July 2011, a computer screen-shot was displayed. It showed the Internet attack system of the Electronic Engineering Institute of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The target list was a table of Falun Gong websites, labeled as “Falun Dafa in North America,” “Falun Dafa in Alabama,” “Falun Dafa website,” “Minghui website,” “Falun Gong witness site (1)” and so on. This is a key piece of evidence of CCP attacks on Falun Gong websites using China's national and military resources.
The Minghui website is a non-profit website with servers located in North America. From June 1999 to December 2000, the complete name of the website was “Falun Dafa in North America – the Minghui Website.” Its short name was “Minghui Website.” Later, the name of the website changed to “Falun Dafa Minghui Website” or “Minghui Website.” The majority of the content comes from Mainland China, and the readers served are primarily Falun Gong practitioners and others interested in learning about Falun Gong and the persecution.
China's Military Employed in the Persecution of Falun Gong
The CCP calls its military the “People's Liberation Army,” and it says that “the military and the people are like fish and water.” However, the reality is that the military is a tool often used by the CCP against the Chinese people. Of course, members of the military are heavily brainwashed by the CCP, and the truth is kept from them so that they will follow the CCP.
The PLA Army General Staff Department has repeatedly used advanced military technology to target Falun Gong practitioners. For example, its No. 54 Research Institute developed a voice recognition system to be used to identify Falun Gong practitioners' voices. They dialed Falun Gong practitioners' phone numbers and recorded the voices answering the phones, which were later used to match wire-tapped conversations.
When Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China couldn't speak for themselves, those outside of China created websites to get the truth out. CCP agents attacked these websites and illegally broke into Falun Gong practitioners' personal computers with malicious programs. This has long been known and documented by practitioners who run the websites, but the recent CCP TV program has unwittingly confirmed the official policy.
Why the CCP Attacks the Minghui website
The Minghui website is a top target for the CCP because it has been exposing the persecution and clarifying the truth about Falun Gong since the inception of the persecution in 1999.
The Minghui website publishes articles by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, experience sharing of practitioners' cultivation, articles about Falun Gong's health benefits, its spread around the world, and more. Over the past 10 plus years, the Minghui website has published about 40,000 experience sharing articles. From these, people can gain a better understanding of Falun Gong.
The Minghui website also publishes first-hand information from Mainland China. Since July 20, 1999, it has published approximately 254,000 first-hand accounts of persecution cases. These articles expose the persecution, help to awaken people's conscience, and help them to see the CCP's crimes and the brutality of the persecution.
The CCP attacks the Minghui website because of its role in spreading the truth and resisting the persecution, and its use of military assets to attack the Minghui website is a sure sign of its fear of the truth being exposed.
The Failure of the CCP Military's Internet Attacks
The Minghui website has been attacked frequently in the past 12 years. During the early years – the beginning of the persecution – the attacks came directly from China. Afterwards, the attacks were more covert and were routed through other countries. A recent attack, however, was again traced directly back to Mainland China.
Over the past 12 years, the Minghui website has evolved from a simple site to a large-scale, multilingual family of sites. Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China have kept in contact with the Minghui website since the inception of the persecution. The April 2009 records of Minghui show that there were about 200,000 stable truth-clarification material production sites in Mainland China. Each of these sites provides Falun Dafa books, new lectures, “Minghui Weekly Magazine,” the Mainland edition of the “Minghui Weekly Report” and many other truth-clarification materials to local practitioners. The sites serve anywhere from 2 to 1,000 practitioners each.
The CCP military's attacks have been thwarted, and this inadvertent acknowledgment by the CCP can only serve to bring further light to the truth about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China.
