Ms. Guo Jun Detained for Nearly a Year; Her Husband a United States Citizen Not Allowed to Visit

Jan. 16, 2012 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Beijing, China

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 9, 2011, Ms. Guo Jun, 41, was arrested by officers from the Xiangheyuan Police Station while handing out Falun Dafa truth-clarification DVDs on the street. The officers ransacked her home and later took her to the Chaoyang District Detention Center, where she went on a hunger strike. She was recently transferred to the Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp in Beijing to serve a two-year term.

Ms. Guo is being incarcerated in the Second Ward of the forced labor camp. In order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their beliefs, the guards use many torture methods, including standing for a long time, squatting, sitting on small stools, sleep deprivation, denied use of toilet, limited bathing, etc.

Ms. Guo's husband is a United States citizen. Since 2008, he has been unable to care for himself. Ms. Guo's imprisonment has not only brought mental anguish to her husband, but also a tremendous amount of hardship to his daily life and work. The camp authorities do not allow him to visit Ms. Guo, nor do they let Ms. Guo call her husband.

Their son is nine years old and also a U.S. citizen. Since his mother's arrest, he often cries and his weakened mental state affects his studies.

Ms. Guo's mother is elderly and weak. Ms. Guo used to take care of her. After hearing of Ms. Guo's arrest, her mother got sick and is bedridden.

People of the world are asked to give their support and care.
