Jan. 5, 2012 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Sichuan Province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) The Tongchuan District Court tried five practitioners on December 21, 2011, and issued sentences on December 28. Ms. Tao Dafeng, in her 60s, was sentenced to ten years in prison; Ms. Xia Bi, in her 50s, was sentenced to eight years; Ms. Li Lei, 45, and Mr. Ran Wenxue, in his 60s, were both sentenced to five years; and Ms. Guo Defen, in her 60s, was sentenced to a three-year term.

According to a news report on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net), on the afternoon of July 5, 2011, officers from the Dazhou City 610 Office and Domestic Security Team, the Tongchuan District 610 Office and Domestic Security Team, and the Da County 610 Office and Domestic Security Team arrested several Falun Gong practitioners, including the five listed above. They were all detained at the Tongchuan Detention Center, and their arrests were approved several months later.

Most of these practitioners were very ill prior to practicing Falun Gong. Since beginning the practice, they have tried to abide by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and have experienced great mental and physical improvements. They try to think of others first, try to be honest and kind, and are regarded as good people amongst their coworkers and neighbors.
