(Minghui.org) Why are some people able to avoid disasters while others aren't? Does it involve the issue of fate, or is it just plain luck? The following three stories may shed some light on the subject.

I Survived a Massive Electric Shock

I'm a 58-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner and a resident of Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. In 1997, Falun Dafa practitioners came to my village to teach the exercises. Ever since that day, I've known that Dafa is good and that its healing powers are magical.

I usually carry a talisman with me, which is something akin to a lucky charm. I had the words “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” imprinted on it. These words denote the intrinsic goodness of Falun Dafa. Over the past ten years my family has managed to avoid several calamities. Overall, everything has gone very well for us.

On the evening of February 1, just after I finished grinding up the pig's feed, I reached for an electrical cord. Since it was dark outside, I could barely see. I immediately fell down and could not move for about 30 minutes. I knew that I had been electrocuted. When I got up, I saw two pea-size holes in my index finger. Yet I did not feel any pain, nor did the wound affect the mobility in my hand.

Three people in my village had been electrocuted and died in the recent past, so when others heard about me, they said that I was extremely fortunate. I told them, “It was Falun Dafa that saved my life. Many thanks to Master Li Hongzhi.”

Narrowly Escaping Danger

I work in a boiler room in a city in Shandong Province. One July afternoon, I forgot to shut the fanning machine off after adding coal to the boiler, and when I opened the boiler gate, large flames leapt out at me. I quickly stepped back. I then noticed that my pant leg was on fire and my back was engulfed in flames.

After I put out the fire, I saw that the rear top half of my shirt was burned as well as my pant leg, right down to my knee. Yet I was fine. There wasn't even any redness.

Just then, my boss' mother passed by. When she saw me, she was speechless. After she realized that I was fine, she said, “Your ancestors must have accumulated a lot of virtue!” I told her that my wife practices Falun Gong, and as a result everyone in our family benefits.

Not long after my wife started the practice, she stopped being hot-tempered and became more considerate of others. Based on these and other changes in her, I was able to see the power of Falun Dafa. Thus, I often helped my wife distribute truth clarifying materials. I believe that this why I was protected when faced with imminent danger. I am very grateful to Master Li.

Surviving a Car Accident

A friend of mine named Mei Pan has a mother-in-law who practices Falun Gong. The mother-in-law spent a lot of time talking to Ms. Mei about Falun Gong. Thus, Ms. Mei understands that Falun Gong is good. Sometimes, she reads Zhuan Falun and other Falun Gong books. Ms. Mei also persuaded approximately 200 people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. She said that she is not afraid to tell people the facts about Falun Gong. She just wants her friends and relatives to be safe. As a result, she has been richly rewarded.

On August 1, Ms. Mei's 18-year-old daughter asked her to buy a bike for her. When Ms. Mei decided not to buy it, her daughter became very upset and left home on a friend's bike. Ms. Mei was very worried and followed her in the family's car.

Just then, a big truck came barreling through the intersection, striking the girl. Ms. Mei immediately stopped her car and ran towards her seemingly lifeless daughter. As she lifted her up, she began shouting, “Master Li, please save my child! Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!”

As she was shouting these words, her daughter's leg began to move. Ms. Mei was hopeful and continued to shout until they both arrived at the hospital. When her daughter came to, she also repeated the words her mother was saying.

Although the girl's knees were black and blue and her eyes were swollen shut, none of her bones were broken. Two weeks later, she was released from the hospital. During a follow-up exam at a major hospital in Changchun, the doctors said she was fine.

Ms. Mei's entire family is grateful to Master Li and is convinced that Falun Dafa is here to save people. It was later discovered that the truck that had struck the girl was going so fast that it only managed to stop after traveling another 60 feet. The girl's bike was a twisted mass of metal and her new clothes were shredded to bits.

Ms. Mei's daughter told her that when she was struck by the truck, she felt very light and buoyant. She said she had left her body and gone to a beautiful grassy area. When she heard her mother shouting “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” she decided to come back.
