Unconditionally Assimilating to Dafa Is the Key to Forming One Body

Nov. 14, 2012 |   By Tian Tao

(Minghui.org) Since the release of Teacher's video “Fa-Lecture to Given to the Australian

Practitioners”, I have watched it countless times, often in tears from beginning to end. Seeing Teacher's every movement and eyes that are full of tremendous compassion, powerful and deeply moving voice (it touches the heart), I had mixed feelings. We have studied Teacher's lectures for over ten years, but how much have we really understood? When I see Teacher's lecture, I burst into tears. I actually realized Teacher's situation: He lectures us from different angles, over and over, again and again, and helps us enlighten to the Fa and the Tao, yet he can't explain too much or remove the tests from our cultivation path. However, we just do not understand Teacher's painstaking efforts, do not unconditionally assimilate to Dafa, and always hold onto our own notions. We measure the Fa with human thoughts and concepts and can't correctly recognize the relationship between ourselves and the Fa. We always think we are in the Fa, and others are not, so we do not look within during conflicts. The person who accuses others sees the issue with human notions, and the accused one does not know how to look within or what to look for. Both understand the Fa with their own concepts and discount the Fa. Hence it creates a gap among practitioners and separates us. Isn't this what the old forces want to accomplish?

In such a grim situation in mainland China, coping with painful tribulations one after another, as well as big tests of life or death, in the face of great danger, we are still unwilling to change our human notions. Each time I see fellow practitioners suffering from illness arranged by the old forces, they still do not let go of their human notions. When I notice those whose lives were taken away by an illness, when I see our coordinators wanting to be leaders, and when I see practitioners arguing and blaming each other, my heart cries. I've heard that practitioners in some areas have divided into several factions, do not cooperate with each other, and even work against each other. Some people have done absurd things, such as giving themselves titles. All of this makes me truly sad. When we practitioners indeed change our human notions fundamentally, constantly and unconditionally assimilate to the Fa, then we can regard those things as pathetic and ridiculous.

Teacher has lectured us again and again and encourages us to look within, which we must indeed do, but we do not listen to Teacher's words and still blame others when we come across problems: “This person is not in the Fa, the other one enlightened on the wrong path.” When practitioners quote Teacher's relevant Fa, they take it out of context. We always measure others and the Fa with a yardstick in our minds. How long is our yardstick? Please remember, the “Buddha Fa is boundless!” Could our yardstick be accurate? What is that yardstick? Isn't it a human notion? What is the standard in our minds?

We should really think about this: We have practiced for over ten years. Is our understanding of the Fa still the same as when we first started? Not only should we have the courage to negate our bad thoughts and behavior, but we should also dare to negate thoughts and behavior that we consider “good.” Even our best ideas and acts are actually human thoughts and behavior, and not those of the divine, thus we must negate them.

“The entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments” (Zhuan Falun, 2000 version)

So it is a process of constantly negating oneself. Only when we can completely do this and completely change ourselves are we able to be reborn and elevate.

“If you do not change the human logic that you, as an ordinary human, have formed deep in your bones over thousands of years, you will be unable to break away from this superficial human shell and reach Consummation.” (“Cautionary Advice” from Essentials For Further Advancement) (official translation)

When we think that others are not in the Fa, we actually are the ones who are not in the Fa. When we accuse others of not being in the Fa, we are even worse and are not based in the Fa. When we notice that others are not in the Fa, we should quickly look within, as he or she is our mirror.

Teacher said in “Troubles” in Hong Yin III:

“Neither heaven nor earth can
block my road of Fa-rectification
But disciples' human hearts can”

(official translation)

We do not know that our human hearts have been blocked on Teacher's road of Fa-rectification. The blockage manifests as being attached to the “16th National Congress” in 2002 to the SARS outbreak in 2003; from being attached to the 2008 Beijing Olympics to the possible death of Jiang in 2011; from the “Wang-Bo-Zhou incident” to Wen Jiabao saying that he would be giving justice to Falun Gong. Today, we hope for changes to occur tomorrow, and thereafter the day after that. This year we have hope for next year and the next. We have been hoping for the past 13 years and we are still hoping for changes.

We know from the Fa that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) exists for our cultivation. When we unconditionally assimilate to the Fa, the Fa-rectification will naturally end. However, we still can't let go of our human hearts, do not look within and improve ourselves. We still hold onto our notions, and can't get free of hatred towards the evil CCP. We can't eliminate our selfish minds that pursue personal consummation, and thus can't eliminate the arrangements of the old forces.

We should simply and unconditionally assimilate to the Fa and do exactly what Teacher says, then we will be able to form a solid indestructible one body and complete our great vows to assist Teacher in Fa-rectification.
