Ireland: Falun Gong Practitioners Call for an End to the Persecution (Photos)

March 28, 2012

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 21, just before Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny set off on an official visit to China, the Falun Dafa Association in Ireland held a press conference outside the Irish Parliament building, calling upon the Prime Minister to bring up the Falun Gong issue during his visit in China. The Falun Dafa representatives submitted a petition condemning the persecution with 20,000 signatures to PM Kenny.

A spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association of Ireland called upon the Prime Minister to bring up the Falun Gong issue and human rights when he visits China. She made four requests of the Prime Minister:

    1. Ask the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop the 12-year-long persecution of Falun Gong, which has resulted in at least 3,500 deaths.

    2. Ask the CCP to bring those responsible for the persecution to justice, including Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Zhou Yongkang, Liu Jing, and Bo Xilai. These men are responsible for subjecting Falun Gong practitioners to all kinds of torture.

    3. Conduct an investigation into the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

    4. Ask the CCP to return Yang Fang's passport. Ms. Yang is a Chinese student and Falun Gong practitioner who studied in Ireland. She returned to China in 1999, appealed for the right to practice Falun Gong, and was arrested. Her passport was taken away. In 2002, she got back her passport and a visa to finish her degree in Ireland. Then, just before she got on the airplane at the Beijing airport, she was arrested again. She was sent back to her hometown in Shenyang, and her passport was again taken away.
