(Minghui.org) May 13, 2012 marks the 20^th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public and the 13^th annual World Falun Dafa Day. Since 2001, all past mayors of the City of Ottawa, Canada's capital city, have issued proclamations declaring Falun Dafa Day in Ottawa. On May 13, 2012, the current Mayor Jim Watson again proclaimed May 13, 2012 as Falun Dafa Day in Ottawa.

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and incorporate them into their daily lives, striving to become better people in all environments and situations; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners in Ottawa and worldwide are joyously celebrating the 20^th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public during May 2012; and

Whereas, transcending culture and racial boundaries, Falun Dafa embraces people of all ages, from all walks of life and religious affiliations; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners and citizens in Ottawa will celebrate Falun Dafa Day with dancing, singing and musical band performances and other festivities;

Therefore, I, Jim Watson, Mayor of the City of Ottawa, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2012 as Falun Dafa Day in Ottawa.
