The Falun Gong procession received attention after its participation in the National Holiday parade. Thus, the city of Genk invited the practitioners for the annual May Festival Parade. A local media outlet reported that this was a successful celebration with around 200,000 people in attendance.

The Falun Gong procession was composed of the European Divine Land Marching Band, the Falun Dafa exercise demonstration group and dancers. The band performed the song Falun Dafa Is Great, while the exercise demonstration team did the gentle Falun Dafa exercises.

The next day, Het Belang van Limburg, a newspaper in the province of Limburg, carried a half-page photo of the process on its front page.
