(Minghui.org) At the Festival of Cultures in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on June 16, 2012, an American Indian in her 60s told people in front of the Falun Gong booth, “You should try this. It really works!” Falun Gong practitioners have participated in this popular festival for the past several years. Many people stopped by to talk to practitioners to get more information. Compared to previous years, more were eager to learn Falun Gong. They were happy to hear about the free workshops to learn the exercises. All the flyers about the workshop were quickly snapped up. Some who had learned about Falun Gong in previous festivals didn't want to miss the opportunity this year. Others told their friends about Falun Gong.
The woman mentioned above had a jewelry booth facing the Falun Gong booth. She had gotten introductory materials from a Falun Gong practitioner in Minnesota and had studied the movements in the brochure. When she saw practitioners doing the exercises at the festival, she thought they looked familiar. She was excited to find out they were the exercises she had learned from the introductory materials. She said Falun Gong really worked for her. As a result of diabetes, she had poor eyesight and hearing. But these symptoms got much better after she did the Falun Gong exercises only a few times. She really wanted to learn more and to continue. Because she couldn't find the practitioner who had sent her the materials, she didn't continue doing the exercises. But she never forgot the miraculous health effect of Falun Gong. When she saw people approach the Falun Gong booth, she told them they had to try it, that it really worked. She wanted to introduce Falun Gong on the Indian reservation where she lived. She knew many people would be interested in learning such a great practice.
Several people had been to China and had heard about Falun Gong before. They knew about the persecution but they weren't influenced by the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda. They knew the persecution was wrong and that the Chinese Communist Party was a dictatorship.
Two Chinese ladies who recently came to the U.S. were very excited to see the Falun Gong booth. They took a copy of every brochure. A Chinese family visited the Falun Gong booth. The man was originally from Changchun, the hometown of Master Li Hongzhi. Some of his friends practiced Falun Gong. He knew these practitioners weren't attached to fame and fortune. He had been curious to find out more about Falun Gong and was happy he finally was able to do that today.
The organizer of the event went to the Falun Gong booth and told the practitioners, “You are great! You have to come back next year!”
