Arrest of Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Jiang Huiqin Incites Public Outrage

July 1, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Hubei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Huiqin, 58, was home alone when a gang of officials suddenly broke into her home. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, Teacher's picture, audio and video materials, and other Dafa truth clarification media. Ms. Jiang explained the facts about Falun Gong to them and told them not to commit this crime; they ignored her, beat her, then dragged her into a waiting vehicle.

After her family returned home and found Ms. Jiang missing, they searched everywhere. They finally discovered that she had been taken away by officers from the Hengdianjie Police Station in Huangpi District, the Huangpi Police Department Domestic Security Division, including Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Women’s Federation director Hu Guihua.

Ms. Jiang's family went to the Huangpi District Police Department to find her, but learned that she'd already been transferred to the Erzhigou Women's Detention Center in Wujiashan, Wuhan. The detention center guard told them that she would be held for 15 days.

On the morning of May 25, 2012, Huangpi District 610 Office director Han Guiwu, Domestic Security Division policewoman Yue Chunfang, and another officer went to the detention center to get Ms. Jiang. Her two daughters happened to be there at the time, trying to get their mother released, but to no avail.

Several bystanders witnessed the incident and were outraged. They all condemned the unlawful behavior of the authorities. Facing the indignant crowd, the intimidated officials called over 100 riot and special forces police for backup. The police formed a barricade in front of the detention center door while Ms. Jiang and her two daughters were taken away. Her daughters were released several hours later, but their mother's whereabouts was unknown.

During the entire incident, Huangpi District 610 Office assistant director Han Guiwu hid inside the vehicle, sticking his head out periodically to direct the officers to abuse law-abiding citizens; they even made a video recording of the incident.

On May 31, 2002, Ms. Jiang's daughter went to the Huangpi District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division to find her mother and leave some personal items for her. No one would tell her where her mother was. They daughters went back and forth between Wuhan and Huangpi until, with the help of kindhearted people, they learned on June 6 that their mother was being held in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuhan.

Ms. Jiang has now been arrested four times. In November 2010, she was reported to the authorities for clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa in Tianhejie in the Huangpi District and subsequently arrested. She was then held in detention for 15 days. In October 2011, she was clarifying the facts in Hengdianjie in the Huangpi District and reported to the authorities by people who were deceived by the CCP's slander of Falun Gong. She was arrested and held for one day. In November 2011, she went to Tianhe Village in the Huangpi District to continue explaining the truth about Falun Gong, but was reported again and held for 10 days.
