Local Village Chief Enjoys Good Fortune After Refusing to Have His Villagers Sign CCP Commitment Cards

Sept. 12, 2012

(Minghui.org) The top local official in a village in China's Liaoning Province is positive towards Falun Gong and believes the truth clarification information distributed by Falun Gong practitioners. He understands from deep in his heart that Falun Gong is good, and that it is a qigong practice that teaches people to do good deeds. Therefore, he always protects practitioners. He understands that he should not demand that practitioners or anyone else in the village sign a "Commitment Card," which asks for everyone to be committed to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. The kind deeds of this village head has resulted in good rewards for his family.

At the end of September 2010, more than 20 officials from the Political and Legal Committee, Political Security Division of Public Safety Bureau, local 610 office, the county CCP secretary, the deputy secretary, the secretary in charge of politics and law, head and deputy head of the county and the director of the juridical court arrived in his village and demanded that practitioners from this village be taken to the county brainwashing center. The station director of the local police station, who also had listened and read truth clarification materials about Falun Gong, resisted the attempts by these officials. He believed that good would be rewarded with good, while doing evil would be met with retribution, and understood that participating in the persecution of practitioners would result in karmic retribution.

The director said that a particular practitioner in question hadn't broken any law, and asked why the other officials were asking him to confront him. “I don't want to receive retribution and so I cannot do anything regarding this matter,” he said.

The officials even came to the home of the village head and ordered him to take the practitioner to the brainwashing center. The village head listened to the demands and then raised his voice, "That person has been held in a prison for so many years and it is still unknown what law he has broken? How much has he suffered because of all this? Yet, he is such an honest and kind person. What on earth do you want from him? Will there be no end to all of this? I can't do anything about this. If you can, do whatever you want!" The room was quiet with no one saying a word. Finally the head said, "If you want to stay, you can stay for a while. If you don't want to stay, I'm still busy in the fields, cutting the crops!" The officials left one after another. The practitioners of the village were protected.

Over a year later, in November 2011, the county secretary in charge of politics and law emphasized during a meeting of the secretaries and heads of all villages in the county that all families need to fill out a "commitment card," pledging allegiance to the CCP, which should be done at the same time when collecting health insurance premiums. He also said that Falun Gong activities were held inside and outside of China. Many university students and senior intellectuals refused to be transformed again and again. I hope that the village leaders realize the importance of having completed the "commitment cards."

The village head went to see the secretary and said that the CCP never does anything beneficial but always demands trivial things like this. Then he gave the secretary 100 yuan stating that his village will not complete the "commitment cards."

This village official has since enjoyed good fortune in life. The villagers who elected him trust him and elected him to be the head again. His family also received good rewards. His son's business is doing very well. He also established a factory, which is very profitable.

One day the village head's wife was not home, so he heated the kang bed-stove and made the bed, after which he went to the factory. Around 11 p.m., he suddenly felt that he needed to go home quickly. When he arrived home, the light was still on and there seemed to be nothing wrong. But, when he opened the bedroom door he was engulfed with smoke and there was a fire. He closed the door and ran to another room to get a big blanket, which he drenched in the water tank. Then, he covered himself with a big blanket, went into the room and held the water-soaked blanket on the kang bed-stove, and put out the fire. All the bedding was burnt to ash, but the winter down coats and bags in which he stored receipts and tens of thousands of yuan were hanging on the wall and undamaged.

He later said, "I have done good deeds by protecting practitioners and refusing to have the villagers complete the 'commitment cards,' as required by the CCP. I was protected by the gods and the master of Falun Dafa."
