(Minghui.org) Ms. Sun Qingju, a teacher at Shangnan Kindergarten in Bajiazi Town, Helong City, Jilin Province, was illegally detained for more than seven months, before she was tried in Bajiazi Court on December 26, 2012. The lawyer her family hired for her was threatened by the police and prevented from defending her in court. It is said that Ms. Sun is unable to stand as a result of severe physical abuse and torture.

Ms. Sun was arrested on the evening of May 5, 2012. Participating in the arrest were Bajiazi Forestry Police Department Domestic Security Division head Zhao Zhikui, political head Wang Jiahui, and other officers. They took Ms. Sun to a brainwashing center, where she was severely tortured because she would not give up her faith in Falun Gong. Her arm was broken and her head was swollen from the abuse; people who knew her well could not recognize her. Ms. Sun was held in Baihe Detention Center for some days before she was transferred to Xuesong Hotel Brainwashing Center in the Bajiazi Forestry Bureau.

On the afternoon of August 3, 2012, Ms. Sun was transferred to Helong Detention Center. Domestic Security Division head Zhao Zhikui is the main person responsible for the persecution of Ms. Sun. He used to be Ms. Sun's neighbor, and it was learned that he was rewarded by the communist regime authorities for arresting and persecuting her.

Ms. Sun has previously been brutally persecuted many times for remaining steadfast in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

On May 13, 2005, when she returned home from work, Wang Jiahui and three other officers from the local Domestic Security Division searched her house. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, and other personal items. The officers took her to the police station, where they tortured her to try to make her "confess." After beating and abusing her for half a day, they took her to the local prison, where she was held in solitary confinement for four days without any food or water. The guards grabbed her by the hair and smashed her head against the wall, kicked her with their boots, hit her head with a water bottle, slapped her, and forced her to sit on an iron chair. At one point, seven or eight officers tied her down on a bed and injected her with unknown drugs.

She was arrested again on the evening of August 5, 2008, by officers from Bajiazi Forest Domestic Security Division and Hebei Police Station. She was taken to Helong Detention Center the next afternoon and later incarcerated at Yanji Mental Hospital.
