Melbourne: Rally Supports Movement to Quit the Chinese Communist Party (Photos)

Nov. 7, 2013

(Minghui.org) Australian Falun Gong practitioners held a rally on November 3, 2013 in downtown Melbourne to support the 150 million Chinese people, to date, who have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its associated organizations.

Lucy, a local volunteer from the Service Center for Quitting the Party who participated in the rally, explained that more and more Chinese began to see the evil nature of the CCP since the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published in 2004. Thus began the movement among Chinese citizens to renounce all memberships to the Party, freeing themselves of its mind control and taking a stance against injustice. “The more people who stand up against the CCP, the faster it will collapse. We are creating history,” Lucy said.

Ms. Leigh Smith, publicist for the film “Free China: The Courage to Believe” in Australia, speaks at the rally.

The Falun Dafa group's Divine Land Marching Band and waist drum team performed at the rally. Practitioners also re-enacted the tortures that the CCP has been using in the persecution of Falun Gong, and exposed the facts about organ harvesting. Many citizens and tourists signed the petition, calling for an end to the persecution.

Mr. Fan, the contact person for the Falun Dafa Association in Victoria, Australia, briefly reviewed the facts of the CCP's organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China. He also called upon Chinese people to recognize the evil nature of the CCP and quit the party to ensure a bright future for themselves.

Ms. Leigh Smith, publicist for the film “Free China: The Courage to Believe” in Australia, spoke at the rally. She pointed out that Australian citizens who have traveled in China for organ transplant surgeries did not know that many of the organs were sourced from innocent Falun Gong practitioners. She called upon Australian lawmakers to pass laws preventing Australian's from getting illegal organ transplants overseas.

Many citizens stopped at the event and expressed support. Michael Eldridge from Melbourne was shocked upon hearing about the brutal persecution. Outraged by the Communist Party's crimes, he said, “They've never done anything good. People have freedom in Australia. That is a correct social system. You cannot speak against the government in China. That is wrong. I love democracy, which lets people enjoy their rights. I can say whatever I want about China without getting in trouble,” he said.

Ms. Lin comes from Taiwan. She said, “I've been here for two years, and have seen a lot of activities held by Falun Gong. They've done a good job. I didn't know much about mainland China affairs, because the CCP blocks the information. Falun Gong practitioners have exposed a lot of shocking facts about China, and let the public know what has been going on in China. I cannot believe that the persecution is still happening. At today's event, I found out that many people have quit the CCP. I was also shocked by the organ harvesting. Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful resistance is great.”
