We Should Not Allow Our Attachments to Jeopardize Others’ Safety

Dec. 11, 2013 |   By a practitioner from Jilin Province

(Minghui.org) More than 50 practitioners from Jilin City were arrested last month, which was a huge loss. More detailed information was released later that indicated several local practitioners were under surveillance for a long time, and a spy had penetrated the local practitioners' circle.

An elderly female practitioner clarified the truth about Falun Gong in the past, and there was a man who showed great interest in getting involved in Dafa activities and cultivation. He wanted to obtain Dafa materials as much as possible. Therefore, the lady brought him to visit about 30 practitioners’ homes.

When officials showed up at a practitioner’s home, they would go directly to the place where the materials were kept before arresting the practitioner. After that, many began to realize how serious the situation was. However, some tried to exonerate the elderly female practitioner by saying that she was too honest.

In mainland China today, the safety of practitioners is still a problem. With the reduction of evil activities, some practitioners have become comfortable and took fewer precautions with safety. Some saw problems, but did not point them out because they were afraid of being accused of having the attachment of fear.

There is an old issue regarding cell phones. When someone was illegally arrested, the police would first check one’s cell phone, and incidences had happened due to carelessness with telephone numbers. Sometimes they would talk about everything on the phone, and thought that it was safe because they didn't use sensitive words. Others would ask for phone numbers without any hesitation as a convenient way to reach other practitioners, or at group Fa study they would leave their cell phones on, thinking that they were not of interest to the government officials.

Through cultivation, we not only must save sentient beings, we also must ensure the safety of other practitioners. We can’t allow our own attachments to jeopardize other practitioners.

Please point out anything inappropriate.
