(Minghui.org) A Chinese New Year parade was held last weekend in Flushing, Queens, an area of New York City with a predominantly Chinese population. Tens of thousands of people watched the parade in the busy downtown area of Flushing. Among the parading groups, there was an eye-catching float from the Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party.

The procession of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP was led by a colorfully decorated float on which “celestial maidens” displayed traditional Chinese lanterns. Following the float, a lion dance and a waist drum troupe performed for the crowd. Volunteers from the service center held large banners and happily greeted the spectators.
In recent years, a lot of Mainland Chinese have come to Flushing. At the center of Flushing there are five sites where Falun Gong practitioners distribute information about Falun Gong and the persecution, and help Chinese people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Year in year out, the “Service Center for Quitting the CCP” is always a visible site in Flushing. The volunteers have endured the cold and heat and the rain and snow. As a result of their hard work, more and more Chinese people have broken free of the Chinese Communist Party.
The head of the service center, Ms. Yi Rong, said that the center is an active participant of the community and has many service sites in Flushing. She commented that the situation in China has been changing quickly in recent years. People are spreading the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in China so a lot of people have come to recognize the evil nature of the Party. When they come to New York and see the service center, they go directly to the volunteers and want to quit the CCP.
She warned that even though the current Party leaders have announced their intention to abandon the “education through forced the labor system,” it will not change the doomed fate of the Communist Party.
In the end, Ms. Yi wished her Chinese friends a happy New Year and hopes that those who have not yet quit the CCP will seize the opportunity before this page of history turns. She especially urges Chinese officials not to be stubborn and to flee the sinking ship as soon as possible.
During the parade, nineteen Chinese spectators declared their withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
