Mr. Shi Yanwei Detained Again, His Whole Family Persecuted Numerous Times

March 5, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China

(Minghui.org) Mr. Shi Yanwei is a Falun Gong practitioner from Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia. He was arrested on December 10, 2012. The perpetrators were officers Wuyunhasi, Bate and Zhong Shaobin from the local Domestic Security Division, and director Liu Haitao from the residential committee. His wife Fang Haiyan went to the local Domestic Security Division demanding his release, but the guard pushed her out the door. Mr. Shi is still detained there.

Mr. Shi's entire family practiced Falun Gong. Over the last decade, the once happy family has been devastated by the persecution. His father passed away during the persecution. His mother was sent to a labor camp and forced to give up her practice in a brainwashing center, causing her illness to return. Mr. Shi's sister was arrested, held, and sent to labor camp. She later became homeless and destitute. Mr. Shi was sentenced to a labor camp for three years, and his wife has been detained, as well.

Mr. Shi's family is planning to sue the main perpetrators from the local Domestic Security Bureau, and has made an appeal to the public for continued attention to his case, and urging the local Police Department to immediately release Mr. Shi.

Below is an account of the persecution that Mr. Shi's family has been subjected to:

Mr. Shi Yanwei is 42 years old, an upright, hard-working, kind-hearted man with a great reputation.

There were five people in his family, his parents, one brother, and one sister. His mother used to have numerous illnesses, and Mr. Shi used to suffer from tuberculosis. After the family members started practicing Falun Gong, they all became healthy and the family environment became harmonious.

In October 2001, under the orders of the Xilingol League 610 Office, a group of people raided Mr. Shi's home and arrested him, his sister Shi Yujie, and his mother Hao Guihua. Many personal belongings and 3,000 yuan in cash were taken away. There was no search warrant or any legal documentation presented during the raid. The perpetrators were deputy director Shi Wei from the police department, deputy head of the Maodeng Farm Gai Yaling, judicial director Mi Jianhua, director of the police station Wang Jianmin, and others including Hou Dongmei, Er Hu, Asi, Sanheizi, and policeman Agula. The family was held for three months. During that time, policemen Bate and Agula tried to extort 10,000 yuan for each of them, for a total of 30,000 yuan. His family refused and later paid 6,000 yuan each. After they were released, they were still constantly harassed by the local police. The family had no choice but to sell their livestock and return to their hometown.

After the family returned home, they opened a flour mill, and their business went well. They followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and the business took off because of their excellent reputation.

In July of 2002, policemen from Xilinhot City and Maodeng Farm went to Mr. Shi's hometown and arrested his mother, Hao Guihua. She was sent to Hohhot Women's Labor Camp for three years, where she suffered all sorts of torture. When she first arrived there, they strip-searched her. She was then held in a cell, deprived of sleep, not allowed to go to the bathroom, and forced to sit on a small bench for a long period of time in the same position. In addition, she was forced to watch a video slandering Falun Gong and write statements denouncing Falun Gong. If she refused, she would be subjected to torture. The guard instigated inmates to torture and beat her in order to reduce their own sentences.

In 2003, the same perpetrators came again for Mr. Shi. They handcuffed and shackled him, and then took him to Wuyuan Labor Camp for two years. He was severely beaten when he first arrived. The corner of his eye was hit, which tore a three-centimeter hole that kept bleeding.

Mr. Shi's sister Shi Yujie came home to take care of her father, but the police came to harass her daily. In December of 2003, two policemen broke into their home and arrested her. Her father attempted to stop them in vain, and was so agitated that he hit his head on the wall, but the police did not care. Without any evidence or legal documentation, they took her away anyway.

This put her father into a state of shock and he passed out. There was no one at home to take care of him. Shi Yujie began a hunger strike against the persecution, and she was released after 8 days. When she came home, she found out her father had been in bed for 8 days, his leg wound was severely ulcerated, and so deep that they could even see the bone. He was sent to the hospital, but shortly after that they ran out of money and he was discharged from the hospital. He died in misery shortly afterward.

After Ms. Shi Yujie buried her father, the same perpetrators attempted to arrest her. She ran away and became homeless. In order to arrest her, the Xilinhot 610 Office manipulated the labor camp to allow Hao Guihua to return home for a visit in October 2004. They then attempted to ambush Shi Yujie. Before she could see her mother, Ms. Shi Yujie was arrested by officers that broke into her home. After that, she was held in a brainwashing center for 20 days and sentenced to labor camp for one and a half years.

The 610 staff deceived Hao Guihua into thinking that she would be able to stay with her daughter, but when she returned to the labor camp, she could not find her. One inmate told her that Ms. Shi Yujie was tortured until she lost consciousness and almost died. The bad news struck her hard and she was bedridden for three days. Ms. Hao could no longer handle the pressure, gave up practicing against her will, and her health began deteriorating. When she was released in 2005, she was delirious. The director of the 610 Office Yang Yurong gave her 50 yuan and asked her to report on a monthly basis. Hao Guihua became noticeably ill as her eyes and skin turned yellow. A CT scan in September 2007 revealed liver cancer. She was healthy when she was practicing Falun Gong, but after she was forced to give up the practice, her health took a sharp decline. She was in constant pain and lost a significant amount of weight. Even when she was in such poor condition, policemen Mi Jianhua, Wang Jianmin, and Agula still harassed her.

After Mr. Shi was released following two years in a labor camp, he endured enormous pain and grief for all that his family went through. He still followed the principles of Falun Gong. He transports goods during the day and is on call for a company at night. He managed to purchase a house for himself through hard work, got married and has a son.

On December 10, 2012, while Mr. Shi was at work, he was arrested by policemen Wuyunhasi, Zhong Shaobin and others from Xilinhot Domestic Security Division. The situation at home is dire, as his wife and baby son have no income without Mr. Shi.
