(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Tianjin] Mr. Hua Lianyou and His Wife Imprisoned (Update)

Mr. Hua Lianyou and his wife, Ms. Tian Zongli, from Tianjin were arrested on April 24, 2012. Mr. Hua was sentenced to seven years in prison. He has been on a hunger strike for almost 11 months to protest the persecution. He is very weak and unable to sit. His wife was sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor. She is being held at the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp in Tianjin.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Luan Zhihua Detained

Ms. Luan Zhihua, 58, from Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by officers from the Jingzi District Security Division on March 1, 2013, when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in Xinzhaizi Town, Jingzi District, Dalian City. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center and held there for 10 days.

3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Xiufeng, Mr. Liu Hui and Mr. Wu Ping were arrested on February 26, 2013.

4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Li, Ms. Liu Shulian and Ms. Liu were recently arrested by officers from the Dongshan Police Station in Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City.

5. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Ms. Huang Yu and Ms. Huang Sizhen Detained

Ms. Huang Yu'e and Ms. Huang Sizhen from Tongling City were arrested by Yashan police on September 25, 2012, when they spoke to people about Falun Gong in Yashan Region, Nanling County, Wuhu City. Police confiscated over 1,000 yuan worth of bills with Falun Gong facts written on them.

The two practitioners were taken to the Nanling County Domestic Security Division, where they were handcuffed and tortured throughout the night. On the second day, they were taken to the Wuhu City Detention Center.

One month later, Ms. Huang Yu'e was transferred to the Tongling City Detention Center. As a result of the persecution, her blood pressure reached 220 mmHg. She was subsequently released. Ms. Huang Sizhen is still being held at the Wuhu City Detention Center.

6. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zeng Shousong Sent to Prison

Mr. Zeng Shousong, 74, from Huai'an City, was arrested in the end of January 2013. He has since been sentenced to three years in prison and is currently held at the Hongzehu Prison in Jiangsu Province.

7. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kong Lanci Arrested Twice

Ms. Kong Lanci, from Xingtai City, was arrested while she spoke to people about Falun Gong in Bijiazhuang on February 25, 2013. Officers from the Guangzong Domestic Security Division, and Cui Jieguo, director of Taoyuan Township Police Station, made the arrest.

The next day, Zhang Mengkai, director of the Domestic Security Division, extorted 5,000 yuan from Ms. Kong's family. Ms. Kong was subsequently released.

At noon of March 1, 2013, Ms. Kong was arrested again by officers from the Domestic Security Division. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

On February 20, 2013, officers from the Jianghan Oil Field Police Department went to the residential building of the Physics Explore Co. (at the Jianghan Oil Field) and arrested three elderly practitioners: Ms. Zou Ganying, Ms. Chen Lihua and Ms. Xiang.

The three practitioners are being held at the Zhouji Police Station, Xiangyang Police Station and Guanghua Police Station, respectively. Their homes were ransacked.
