Mr. Zhang Xinghe, a farmer from Beixiyao Village, Dawenkou Town, Daiyue District, Taian City, was driving an electric car on the morning of December 28, 2012, distributing Falun Gong materials. He was followed by a group of police officers from the Wenkou Town Police Station. Deputy police chief Li Jun, among the group, suddenly grabbed Mr. Zhang by his waist from behind. The other officers pushed him into the police vehicle and took him to the Dawenkou Town Police Station.

Police chief Gong Yujun, political instructor Zhang Xunji, deputy chief Li Jun, and 610 Office director Liu Deyun later led police officer Wang Qing and a dozen others, to Mr. Zhang's home in three police vehicles. His wife, Ms. Feng Yuelan, refused to open the door for them. The police jumped over the fence into the yard and pried open the door. They confiscated a personal laptop computer, a desktop computer, three printers, 2,000 yuan in cash, among which were 1,000 yuan bills with Falun Gong truth clarification information written on them, four boxes of printing paper, a box of printer ink, and a roll of truth clarification materials.

People in the area know that practitioners Mr. Zhang and his wife have been caring for their elderly relatives, and are kind to their neighbors. When they heard the arrest and ransacking commotion, many neighbors came to their house to show support. Some neighbors tried to get inside to see what was happening and were forcibly blocked at the door by police.

During the whole process of ransacking, Ms. Feng Yuelan kept talking to the police about Falun Gong. As the police forced her into the vehicle, Ms. Feng shouted, “You must hear this loud and clear. Falun Dafa is here to save lives.” Some neighbors standing by cried at the scene.

When Ms. Feng arrived at the police station, the police attempted to take her blood pressure. She resisted, “Why? Are you planning to harvest my organs?” Ms. Feng spoke to the police about how she had changed and benefited physically and mentally after practicing Falun Gong, and told them they should be good, instead of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. One police officer told her, “We all know it. And we all know that you took very good care of your father-in-law while your husband was sent to a labor camp.”

The police handcuffed her. They planned to put her under house arrest. Ms. Feng resisted while the police forcibly took her fingerprint as proof of her consent. It was five in the afternoon when Ms. Feng was released from the police station. The authorities detained Mr. Zhang's motor vehicle and locked him up at Taian City Detention Center.
