(Minghui.org) Telling people the facts about Dafa in order to save them has been difficult for me, and I have had relatively few successes. However, I will not give up as I have faith in the Fa and Teacher that one day I will make good progress.

A colleague of mine is the vice president of a university where I work. For more than 10 years I have visited him more than 30 times. Whenever I tried to tell him about Falun Gong, he said, “If you want to talk about Falun Gong, I would like you to leave. If you want to talk about something else, please stay for dinner.”

I usually felt pretty bad when he said that, and on my way home I thought he lacked the ability to understand what was good for him. I now understand more why saving people is important and that saving one being may involve countless others for whom he is their representative. I recognize that this vice president was misled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which is why he had a negative view of Falun Gong. I still continued to visit with him about three times a year.

Shortly after the new year I went to see him again. He had a mild case of dementia and could not recall my name. His wife had high blood pressure, a serious stomach infection, and could not stand straight. She indicated that they had to have help come in every day. Both of them were 79 years old.

This time he let me tell him the facts about Falun Gong, the self-immolation at Tiananmen Square, the persecution, the inevitable destruction of the CCP, etc. He was very friendly and wanted to withdraw from the CCP and all its associated organizations. He showed me his decision by tearing his Party membership card which he had kept for over 20 years, and his wife did the same. Furthermore, both he and his wife wanted to learn Falun Gong.

After the last visit I went over to see them every week and brought DVDs and booklets about Falun Gong. I also gave them a copy of Zhuan Falun and other articles.

There were major changes in their health two months later. The vice president gained enough energy that he was able to help his wife take care of daily chores. They both have quit taking medicine, and he is now able to read through Zhuan Falun in two days. He is no longer confused about what he does. His wife's situation is even more miraculous. She had only two years of schooling and did not know many words. She asked Teacher for help so that she could read Zhuan Falun . She is now able to read the entire book along with other conference articles.

One day she saw the words in Zhuan Falun magnified to the size of an ordinary egg and behind the words she saw many of Teacher's law bodies. In addition, she saw a law body behind me and a huge hand doing something to her husband's head. She no longer has high blood pressure or a stomach infection. She can stand straight and is able to go up and down the stairs easily. Her children said that she was a different person.

They now do the exercises and study the Fa everyday. They also visit with their neighbors, relatives, and friends to inform them about Falun Gong.

I learned quite a bit from what happened to this elderly couple. While saving sentient beings is part of my job, I must not hold any preconceived notions about them.. We have a responsibility to help Teacher, because cultivating and upgrading ourselves is our responsibility, while the transformation of gong is done by Teacher. It is good to always hold a positive attitude when we go out to tell people about Falun Gong.

I should put more effort into studying the Fa, removing attachments, and saving more sentient beings in order to justify the salvation offered to me by Teacher, whom I sincerely thank.
