Four Yunnan Practitioners Sentenced to Prison, Mr. Li Quan to Seven Years

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Quan, Ms. Ji Jianping, Ms. Zhang Shunying, and Ms. Ji Hanliang were arrested by officers from the Fengqing County Police Department in Lincang City, Yunnan Province, in mid-February 2012.

Mr. Li has been held at the Fengqing County Detention Center, while the three other were released on bail awaiting trial.

The Lincang City Intermediate Court illegally sentenced the four practitioners on May 30, 2013. Mr. Li was sentenced to seven years in prison; Ms. Ji Hanliang, to three years in prison with three years' probation; and Ms. Jianping and Ms. Zhang, each to three years in prison with five years' probation.

Mr. Li Quan , 43, worked at the Fengqing Agricultural Bureau. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor by the Lincang Forced Labor Administration Committee on August 2, 2000. He was released on August 1, 2002.

Mr. Li was arrested by officers from the Fengqing County Police Department on February 15, 2012, and has been held at the Fengqing County Detention Center for nearly two years. Family visits are not allowed. The arrest warrant was issued by the Fengqing Procuratorate on March 19, 2012.

Ms. Ji Jianping , 45, works at the Fengqing Power Company. She was arrested by officers from the Fengqing County Police Department on August 23, 2005, when she distributed information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held for 15 days.

She was arrested again by officers from the police department on February 14, 2012, but was released the next day on bail awaiting trial.

Ms. Zhang Shunying , 70, is a retired teacher. She was arrested by officers from the Fengqing County Police Department on August 23, 2005, when she distributed information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held for 15 days.

She was arrested again on February 13, 2012, and was released on bail awaiting trial on February 17.

Ms. Ji Hanliang , 67, is a farmer. She was arrested by officers from the Fengqing County Police Department on February 12, 2012. After she was released, she was monitored.
