A Wake-up Call for Busy Practitioners

Jan. 20, 2014 |   By a practitioner from China

(Minghui.org) I have been maintaining computers for fellow practitioners. A while ago, I was not doing too well in cultivation and some police officers harassed me. With Teacher's help, the harassment has now stopped.

Reflecting upon the past, I've come to realize that I kept myself busy with work and did not do the exercises or study the Fa diligently.

In my understanding, the correct state for a practitioner is to be energetic, and this results from doing the exercises and studying the Fa daily. Instead, I felt tired most of the time and was not able to cultivate diligently.

While there is nothing wrong with sacrificing my time to help fellow practitioners, my mistake was to revert to a state of an ordinary person. When I felt tired, I watched television instead of doing the exercises.

Someone who is busy with work does not have much time left. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to use all spare time to do the exercises and study the Fa.

The desire to seek comfort has to be removed.

One must accomplish the duties expected of any good person and try to help fellow practitioners wherever possible. The rest of the time, I think, should be devoted to studying the Fa and doing the exercises. Entertainment enjoyed by ordinary people should be limited. In my understanding, seeking such entertainment is actually a human notion that could hinder one's cultivation.
