A Government Plotted Self-Immolation Hoax

Jan. 22, 2014 |   By Miaoxuan

(Minghui.org) I was a government employee in 2001 when Chinese Central TV (CCTV) first broadcast the staged self-immolation. My supervisor called me while I was on vacation and told me to return right away because they were about to make an urgent government announcement.

After I returned, my supervisor told me that some people would set themselves on fire during the Chinese New Year and that no one from our organization should go to Beijing, particularly near Tiananmen Square, so that we would not be recorded and end up on television.

I asked, “Why does it matter so much? People go to Tiananmen Square to sightsee, not to set themselves on fire.” He asked, “Isn’t it true that some people were accidentally caught on camera during the June 4 th events in 1989 and had to explain to their employers later?”

After the staged self-immolation was broadcast on TV, we all had to watch the CCTV’s “Focus” program at home that night. After watching it for a short while, I took my little son to the next room and had him play video games. I then closed the door to the TV room and turned the volume all the way down so that he would not be frightened.

The first time I watched that hoax on TV, I clearly saw that the armed police officers dragged a fire extinguisher from under a pile of snow. It was obvious that they had hidden it there beforehand. It was very easy to see that it was all completely fake.

I was in tears watching the plotted hoax on the Party media. What kind of government would do something like this to its own citizens?

A colleague of mine told me softly at work the next day, “Did you watch ‘Focus’ last night? It’s so easy to tell that everything they said was fake. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is so vicious.”

I asked how he found out. He told me that everybody knew that it was fake. There were so many loopholes in the program.

Another colleague of mine, Xiao Long, also told me that the “self-immolation” was fake. One of his hobbies was photography, and he noticed that many of the shots shown on TV were made from angles above. If the cameras were not already installed there ahead of time, it would have been impossible for them to take shots from those angles. Nobody, including foreign photographers, would be able to set up cameras on top of ladders, and then push them around to get the shots that were shown on TV.

In the past 13 years, I have been subjected to brainwashing, detained, and illegally sentenced. Except for a few very vicious people, most of my colleagues know that I am a good person. With his permission, I helped Lao Lin quit the CCP.

Even though he wished to be promoted, Xiao Long secretly told me, “I’m different from those CCP officials who are all corrupt.”

Even though back then I was a new practitioner, the government plotted self-immolation actually helped me see how great and pure Falun Gong is.

If someone still believes that the “self-immolation” is true, they should think twice.
