Inner Mongolia: Mr. Ran Weiming Sentenced to Prison, Ms. Ning Shihua and Ms. Yang Junlian Become Homeless to Avoid Persecution

(Minghui.org) Nine practitioners from Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia, rented a car to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarification materials in villages between Hohhot City and Wuchuan County around on April 27, 2012. The practitioners were Mr. Ran Weiming, Ms. Yang Junlian, Ms. Yang Bo, Ms. Ning Shihua, Mr. Li Zhiqiang, Mr. Wang Runxi, Ms. Wang Lanfang, Mi Yanlong and Mr. Shang Guixi.

Just before leaving Erdaowa Village, they were chased by two police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Muslim District Police Department in Hohhot City. The police used an air gun to puncture their tire, forcing them to stop. Seven practitioners escaped, but Mr. Ran Weiming and Ms. Ning Shihua were arrested. Police beat the practitioners and police woman Wu Fengming used pepper spray on them.

Mr. Ran Weiming was taken to Cell No. 2 in the 4th group of the First Detention Center in Hohhot City on April 29, 2012. He was sentenced to a three-year and six month prison term by the District Court in Hohhot City in 2013. He was taken to the Hohhot Men's First Prison on April 11, 2013.

Ms. Ning Shihua was detained for three days after she was taken to the Domestic Security Division of the District Police Department. During a physical exam, she was diagnosed with having cancer after being transferred to the First Detention Center in Hohhot City. Therefore, she was released and returned home at 3 a.m. the same day.

The police confiscated 1,100 yuan from Ms. Ning. They also ransacked her home and confiscated her antiques and Falun Gong books.

Ms. Yang Junlian voluntarily returned to the Domestic Security Division on May 2, 2012. Later, she was let out on bail. The police demanded that she pay 2,000 yuan and confiscated the 5,000 yuan deposit that she had paid for the rental car.

Ms. Yang Bo escaped on April 27, but was arrested on the night of August 21, 2012 by officers Cui Wenzhong and Bai Lili from the Domestic Security Division of the District Police Department. Her home was ransacked. She was transferred to the First Detention Center in Hohhot City the next day. Her arrest was approved by the procuratorate on August 31, 2012.

Yang Yan from the procuratorate interrogated Ms. Yang Bo on November 15, 2012. The District Court indicted her on May 15, 2013 and put her on trial on June 28, 2013. On August 9, 2013, the court sentenced her to a three-year prison term which was commuted to four years of home detention.

Ms. Ning Shihua, Ms. Yang Junlian and Ms. Yang Bo are from three generations of the same family. The police in Hohhot City ransacked their home. Officer Cui Wenzhong destroyed all electronics. The police from the Domestic Security Division are still searching for Ms. Ning and Ms. Yang, causing them to be homeless.
