(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhu Ruiying, in her 70s, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Hefei City, Anhui Province. She was illegally arrested at home on June 22, 2011. Her home was ransacked and she was sentenced to a three-year prison term with three years' probation in January 2012. The 610 Office claimed that she was recently involved in Falun Gong activities and should be incarcerated. She was taken to Suzhou No. 3 Prison on December 5, 2013.

Ms. Zhu and four other practitioners were on a bus to Suzhou Prison on October 30, 2013. One of the practitioners handed out amulets to passengers. A passenger reported them to the local police. All five practitioners were taken to the local police station and interrogated.

The practitioners were then taken to a hospital to be examined. Two of them were released after they were diagnosed with high blood pressure.

The other three practitioners were taken back to Hefei City and held at the Hefei Brainwashing Center.

In the brainwashing center, Ms. Zhu refused to renounce Falun Gong and refused to write the “four statements” (similar to the three statements).

Ms. Zhu was taken to the Hefei No. 2 Detention Center afterward. She was given a physical and diagnosed with high blood pressure and did not meet any of the five physical standards for imprisonment. The detention center did not want to admit her, but the 610 Office staff urged them to.

Ms. Zhu's son died not long ago. Her imprisonment had been very hard on her husband. Her husband, also in his 70s, has difficulty taking care of himself. His health has deteriorated as a result of the recent traumas. He still managed to go to several agencies to ask for Ms. Zhu's release. He asked Shen Xianzhu, head of local 610 Office, what crime his wife had committed. Shen did not answer and said that he did not have the final say in her case. He refused to see Ms. Zhu's husband or answer his phone calls after that.
