(Minghui.org) Accountability for the persecution of Falun Gong continues to rip through the ranks of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). While Western mainstream society has learned of the investigation of Li Dongsheng, head of the 610 Office, and rumors of the arrest of Zhou Yongkang, former Domestic Security chief, sources from Minghui.org have revealed that many more CCP officials have been affected by the purges within the Party.
According to an internal report of the central Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), one of the main organs responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong, within three months of the CCP's 18 th National Congress in November 2012, at least 453 PLAC CCP officials at various levels had been disciplined, detained, or arrested. They include 392 in the Public Security sector, 19 in offices of the Procuratorate, 27 in the courts, 10 in the justice system, and 10 in other systems. Among them, 12 high-ranking officials have committed suicide.
Eighteen or more provincial- or ministerial-level CCP officials have fallen since Bo Xilai, former head of the CCP in the city of Chongqing and a Politburo member, was sentenced to life imprisonment in September 2013.
These CCP officials have been charged with a variety of crimes. However, their main crimes have been covered up; as close followers of Jiang Zemin and Zhou Yongkang, they have been accomplices in the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
A cornerstone belief in Chinese traditional culture is “what goes around comes around.” Retribution always occurs; it is just a matter of timing and different manner of manifestation. The domino effect of the downfall of high-ranking CCP officials may just be the beginning.
So many CCP officials have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners for personal advancement, as their careers were tied with their “performance” in the persecution. For example, Zhou Yongkang and Bo Xilai were both promoted by Jiang Zemin as a result of using their power base to brutally persecute practitioners. However, just as loyal followers can be promoted, the CCP, or individuals within the CCP, can just as easily turn on them if the Party's self-interest is at stake.
The 18 th National Congress decided to exclude the PLAC head from the Politburo. With Zhou removed from the Politburo and demotion of the PLAC, the labor camps were declared “shut down.”
Steve Tsang, head of the China Policy Institute at the University of Nottingham, said in an interview with the South Morning China Post that even former president Jiang Zemin, Zhou's political patron, wanted to distance himself from Zhou Yongkang. Jiang didn't try to help Zhou, as it was hard enough for him to protect himself.
When Wang Lijun, former police chief of Chongqing, fled to the US Consulate in Chengdu in 2012 to seek asylum, he provided information about Bo Xilai's involvement in forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. This brought Bo down even though the CCP's official charge was “corruption.”
The trend will continue with more CCP officials following a similar path, as their higher officials try to shirk responsibility for their crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong.
Many high-ranking CCP officials in the recent “avalanche” will have to take direct responsibility for carrying out the persecution and directly harming millions of practitioners.
One example is Li Dongsheng, the head of the 610 Office. As Deputy Director of China Central Television (CCTV) when the persecution first began, he headed up the popular program “Focus” and produced 70 episodes from July to December 1999 which vehemently slandered Falun Gong.
Li was also responsible for the staged Tiananmen Square Self-immolation of January 2001. The self-immolation was thoroughly debunked in the award-winning documentary False Fire , which analyzed the video footage broadcast by CCTV, as well as evidence provided by third-parties. The documentary concluded that the event was staged by the CCP to justify and fuel the persecution, which was losing momentum and public support at the time.
In addition to television, Li spread lies and slanderous propaganda to radio, newspapers and schools, stirring up nationwide hatred across different age groups and social levels. Such defamatory materials were also extensively used in brainwashing centers to try to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong.
The worst atrocity committed over the 14-year-persecution has been the live organ harvesting from imprisoned practitioners. Evidence has shown that both Bo Xilai and Jiang Zemin were directly involved in this unprecedented evil.
Evidence is provided in a recorded conversation that occurred in 2006 when Bo visited Germany as Minister of Commerce.
First Secretary: Are you Minister Bo Xilai? Bo : Who is this? First Secretary : This is the First Secretary of the Embassy [in Berlin]. Bo : Oh. First Secretary: I have something urgent. The German Foreign Ministry contacted us today asking for some clarification. Bo : Oh. First Secretary: The question was that, when you were the Governor of Liaoning Province, was it you or Jiang Zemin who gave the order of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. This question is being raised as it relates to tomorrow's meeting. The Germans may adjust accordingly the ranks of their officials attending the meeting tomorrow. Bo: It was Jiang.
While layers of cleanup helped the CCP stay alive in the past, diverting public anger and frustration from the Party to individual scapegoats, the same trick will not work this time. Years of persecution of innocent Chinese people have taken their toll.
The persecution of Falun Gong is the final straw. As stated in Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party , “Falun Gong practitioners evaluate right or wrong based on truthfulness-compassion-tolerance. This obviously hinders the CCP’s perpetual efforts to 'unify' people’s thinking.”
When the crimes of the persecution, including the forced organ harvesting, are fully exposed, Chinese people will no longer tolerate the existence of the CCP, and no one will want to be a part of it.
In a recent example, Lin Jinhui, a member of the CCP-based Hong Kong Youth Care Association, quit the organization on December 17, 2013. He said that he did so to “bring blessings to his family and himself.” The Hong Kong Youth Care Association, an organization under direct supervision of the central 610 Office, has violently attacked Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong, as well as local residents and tourists, in an attempt to export the persecution to Hong Kong.
