(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Lixia from Chongyang County in Hubei Province was diagnosed with cancer prior to practicing Falun Dafa. After she began practicing she recovered. The police targeted Ms. Wang because she often told people the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution.
Ms. Wang was forced to leave her home to avoid illegal arrest. She has been homeless for 15 years. The police continued harassing her family and relatives, and the pressure led her husband to divorce her. She lost everything.
Ms. Wang, who had been diagnosed with cancer and many other illnesses, regained her health after she started practicing Falun Dafa in June 1999. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Dafa in July 1999, she would speak to people about the truth of the practice and the persecution, and mobilized other practitioners to do the same. She has been homeless since October 1999, the day she was arrested at home.
The police arrested her husband and illegally detained him for over ten days in an attempt to locate Ms. Wang. They tried to force him to reveal her whereabouts and also extorted a few thousand yuan from him.
Ms. Wang's husband eventually succumbed to the police brutality and began to believe them. He ended up cooperating and revealed to them the factory where she was working in Zhejiang Province, 600 miles away. The police immediately went there, but she escaped.
The policed followed her to Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, another 800 miles away, but did not find her, and they continued to search for her.
Under tremendous pressure, Ms. Wang's husband and relatives tried to force her to give up her belief, but Ms. Wang persisted in her belief. Her husband divorced her in 2001 and left with their son.
The police continued to harass her family and relatives. They visited Ms. Wang's relatives every holiday and on special occasions, and her family began to resent and blame her for the hardship. Because her family was afraid of police retaliation, none of them dared to help her or let her stay with them.
The persecution shattered her life.
