(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Wang Yamin, a doctor in Lianyungang City, has been illegally arrested many times and tortured by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for her steadfast belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

She was injected with psychotropic drugs, subjected to forced labor, and sentenced to prison. Her family went to Beijing twice to sue the Donghai County 610 Office but were ignored.

Donghai County 610 Office agents said, “Our police department chief, Yang Jian, said that we will go after [Dr.] Wang Yamin sooner or later, because her husband embarrassed us.”

Below is an account of the persecution of Dr. Wang.

First Arrest and Forced Labor Sentence

Dr. Wang Yamin was arrested by the Donghai County 610 Office in mid-January 2002 because she distributed Falun Gong informational materials. She was held and tortured in the Jiangsu Women's Forced Labor Camp for a year and a half.

After she was released, she continued to practice Falun Gong.

Second Arrest and Brutal Torture

The police ransacked the homes of several practitioners and confiscated Falun Gong truth-clarification materials that they believed Dr. Wang had provided. They arrested her early on October 24, 2005, and held her in the Donghai County Detention Center.

The Donghai County Court scheduled a trial for December 23, but it was canceled due to lack of evidence.

Eight 610 Office agents tortured Dr. Wang for eight days to try to force her to renounce Falun Gong. They shocked her all over, including her head and sensitive areas, with several electric batons. One yelled, “Admit you're guilty! Do you still want to practice?”

Dr. Wang fell down and convulsed because of the electric shocks. Her skin was burnt and the agonizing pain made her shriek. But she still refused to renounce Falun Gong.

The officers then injected Dr. Wang with drugs that attack the central nervous system and induce hallucinations. She was in excruciating pain.

She then had frightening hallucinations and irrational thoughts and started to lose control of her mind. The pain and feelings were indescribable. Gradually, Dr. Wang became numb, physically and mentally, and then lost consciousness.

Secretly Sentenced to a Four-Year Term

The Donghai County Court put Dr. Wang on trial on January 16, 2006. They threatened that they would sentence her to three years or longer.

She refused to sign any document, saying the charges against her were false, so the trial had to be rescheduled. Her second trial also ended with no decision.

The county 610 Office continued to persecute Dr. Wang, and she was sentenced to four years on January 26, 2006. She refused to accept the sentence and appealed to the Lianyungang City Intermediate Court.

The Donghai County 610 Office, detention center, Procuratorate, and court, as well as the Lianyungang City Appeals, Court persecuted Dr. Wang for six months.

During her six months in the Donghai County Detention Center, Dr. Wang was tortured. She was interrogated with torture and deprived of sleep for eight days. Wang Fang, the deputy political instructor, beat her severely and forced her to do hard labor. She often was forced to walk in her bare feet during the cold winter.

Dr. Wang became emaciated, weak, and unable to take care of herself as a result of the long-term mental and physical abuses. She had become unresponsive and irrational. She suffered various schizophrenic symptoms. She could not eat and was force-fed by the guards.

To cover up their crimes and escape responsibility, Wang Fang and the 610 Office urged the Lianyungang City Intermediate Court to sentence Dr. Wang quickly and move her out of the area. The court cooperated and upheld the sentence.

Transferred to a Mental Hospital

Dr. Wang was taken to Nantong Women's Prison and then transferred to the Pukou Prison Mental Hospital in Nanjing because of her schizophrenic symptoms. She completely lost awareness. She did not even remember who was responsible for sentencing her and putting her in a mental hospital when she was asked later. According to a guard in Pukou Prison, she was on the verge of death when she arrived at the facility.

Dr. Wang's family had no clue as to her whereabouts. Their lawyer finally told them that she had been taken to Nantong Women's Prison. But no one was told that she was transferred to Pukou Prison until the evening of April 5, 2006.

Dr. Wang was finally released, and she improved greatly after more than six months under her family's care. She restarted practicing Falun Gong again and fully recovered. Her family went to Beijing twice to sue the Donghai County 610 Office but were ignored.

Arrested Three More Times

Dr. Wang Yamin was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on July 24, 2010.

She was arrested again on September 20, 2012, by the Donghai County 610 Office, the West Twin Lake Police Station, and the Niushan Police Station. She was detained and tortured in the Donghai County Detention Center and released on October 11, 2012.

Dr. Wang was arrested by the Donghai County 610 Office yet again on July 2, 2013, and detained and persecuted in the Lianyungang City Detention Center. She was released seven days later.

Background

Dr. Wang Yamin, about 40 years old, was born in Donghai County, Jiangsu Province. She owned a clinic in Donghai County and is well respected in the community.

Although she suffered from various health problems, she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996 and returned to good health. She witnessed the power of Falun Gong and lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She worked hard to be a good doctor. Patients from different areas came came to her clinic for treatment.
