(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in eight cities or counties in five provinces. In this report, 19 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least two practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ten Practitioners in Custody During Chinese New Year

At least thirty practitioners were arrested by officers from the Jilin City Police Department, the Domestic Security Divisions of Jilin City, Chuanying District, Changyi District, Fengman District and Longtan District, and various police stations, on the evening of October 17, 2013 and the next morning. Ten of these practitioners are still being held in the Jilin City Detention Center, including Mr. Zhu Yujun, Mr. Deng Xiaobo, Mr. Wang Zhenguang, Mr. Ma Chi, Mr. Meng Fanyi, Mr. Sun Changsheng, Mr. Li Dequan, Mr. Li Dexiang, Mr. Che Pingping, and Mr. Zhang Wei. Mr. Che has been on a hunger strike protesting the persecution.

2. [Tangyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wan Shuqing Held at Police Department

Mr. Wan Shuqing from the Daying Farm in Tangyuan County was arrested by officers from the Daying Farm Police Department on January 29, 2014. Officers confiscated Falun Dafa banners, Falun Gong books, and a laptop computer from Mr. Wan Shuqing's home. Mr. Wan is being held in the Tangyuan Farm Police Department.

3. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Jihua and Ms. Pan Zhenfang Harassed

Officers from the Xinji Town Police Station barged into the store that Mr. Gao Jihua and his wife own, on the morning of January 21, 2014. After searching through the store, they confiscated Falun Gong books, along with other items. Mr. Gao managed to escape. Soon after that, officers from the Sanhe City Domestic Security Division barged into his home, searched it, and then searched his store again.

Officers from the Xinji Town Police Station attempted to harass and arrest Ms. Pan Zhenfang in Lizhuang Village. With the help of some kind people, she managed to escape.

4. [Shanghai] Mr. Wang Naiwei Arrested

Mr. Wang Naiwei was arrested on January 23, 2014, and his home ransacked.

More than ten officers barged into Mr. You Yuehong's home and arrested him on the morning of August 25, 2013. He has been held in the Huludao Detention Center for over five months. He is in poor health, and has developed tuberculosis in the detention center.

Ms. Liu Fang was arrested by officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of October 8, 2012. She was recently sentenced to seven years in prison and is being held in the Changchun City No. 3 Detention Center.

Guards in the Shandong Prison discovered articles written by Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, in several prison cells. They went after practitioners Mr. Liu Ruping, Mr. Wang Zhansuo, and Mr. Tang Peiwu, forcing them to sit on small wooden stools for extended periods of time and forbidding family visits.
